A note on that '88-

Every time I am frustrated by all of the masking on a current model project, I just go to my stash and dig out my Pro Modeler JU-88.  First a shiver down the spine, then relief that my current build isn't so bad! Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

Bill I can certainly relate to that second title.  How I survived for this long knowing absolutely nothing (according to my girls) amazes me Wink [;)].

Matt I forgot to mention that Dragon also do a Ju 88.  Out of the three I believe that the Hasegawa kit is supposed to be the ducks of 72nd scale and Revell Pro Modeler is the best in 48th.  Either way I would invest in a pre-cut mask from Eduard to save yourself some agro.

Cheers

Hey fighterguru, the Pro-modeler Ju88 (I think that is the monogram one) is not too bad.  Good detail with not bad fit. Nasty canopy to mask any way you slice itBig Smile [:D]

For your list, I usually respond to "Bill", or "Dad, you don't know anything about anything", but I'll go with the first.

Thanks Darson.  You know, I thought that I had already bought one for the kit so I popped into my den this morning to look for it before I left for work.... couldn't find it so maybe I never got around to ordering it?  hmmmm.... that's a bummer.  I'll do a little more digging tonight.

Does it have to be in Battle of Britain markings? If not im up for doing a Italeri Fiat Cr42 captured by the RAF. If we have to have Battle Of Britain markings i will do a Spitfire Mk1 from the Tamiya kit or a Mk1 Hurricane from the Airfix kit with the Heritage aviation fabric wing.

Put me down for a 1/32 Matchbox Bf109E-3 with an after market cockpit set (I think Cutting Edge, but will need to check).

Thanks for putting this one together Darren, looks like you've already generated a lot of interest!

I think I'll pull my 1/72 Hasegawa He 111H-2 out of the stash for this one, as well as a 1/72 109 or two.  I've got four ICM 109's on the shelf, I'm curious to see how they go together compared to the Tamiya kit.  I've probably got decals to do at least 100 BoB era Emils so deciding on a paint scheme will be the hardest part!

DUH, I posted over on aircraft. I would like to participate in a BOB GB and I have had a HE-115 sitting in the stash for a while. Its a nice strange and rare aircraft from Revell in 1/72 and since its on the list of aircraft its a perfect excuse to get it built, so count me in.

Hmmm... that might be what I need to pull me back from the "dark side" as I've totally been into armor.

If you do one, I have a Bf109E I'd like to build.  Cool [8D]

I'm in for sure and will build a control tower, something that I've lately been interested in.

Scratchbuilt, probably in England. 1/72 certainly.

I'd love to Darren but I'll have to keep it small as I am overbooked as it is.  Maybe I'll even finish the BR 20 that is still sitting in my unfinished stash from the last BOB GB. Blush [:I]Whistling [:-^]

Situation.
It's July 1940 and England is alone with the might of the German army, navy and airforce expected across the channel any day, the only thing that stands between the Germans and the British people is the RAF. Hopelessly outnumbered they must fight for the survival of their homeland in one of the most crucial battles of WWII.

Rules of Engagement.
The rules for this are going to be fairly simple:

1. Any aircraft that flew at least one authorised operational sortie with an eligible unit of the Royal Air Force, Fleet Air Arm, Luftwaffe or the Reggia Aeronautica during attempt by Germany's Luftwaffe to gain control of British airspace and destroy the Royal Air Force in the period 10 July to 31 October 1940.
2. Any scale
3. OOB or as much PE & Aftermarket as you want.
4. Crossover builds with other GBs are allowed.
5. Old builds that have been sitting in the "to finish pile" for the last XX years are allowed. .
6. The start date for the group build is July 1st 2008 with the completion date being Oct 31st 2008.
7. This build is open to everyone regardless of modeling skills
8. This current thread will be used for the group build
9. Must have fun Big Smile [:D]Big Smile [:D]

Badges
I have created the following badges for use during this build so use them as you wish but I'll be going for the Spitfire badge myself even though I'm building a German aircraft as I think it looks hot.
