Yes, starting on dios seems to require some energy of activation.  But once I started, it was great fun.  Get going on yours.  Those lonely models on your shelf will soon become very firendly when you're not looking and before you know it, they're multiplying.

pordoi that is really sharp! It's like the halftracks never want to be done isn't it? They are the perfect subject for such a variety of scenes due to the many diff types! Exceptional work!

 Your right Fupes I plan on dusting it up pretty good! It looks like it has turtle wax on it with the camera flash!

  SMJ isn't PE fun! Your Zu fuss is looking good. Painting my first 251 was a learning experience also.

   Hit a couple of bumps on my build. First I had to deal with those wonderfully accurate Dragon instructions again. Parts b26 and b27 are reversed.

  So I needed to get them off and switch them around. Managed to get the first one off no problem.

  Here's what happened while trying to get the other one off.

  #11 blade right under the fingernail

  If it had been a 16 of an inch lower I would have needed stiches.

  The next problem I ran into was with the gun shield. The   thing does not line up with the mounting poles on the gun cradle so I have to scratch new ones.

  Everything else has gone pretty smooth so once I get this taken care of it should be all down hill. (He says with fingers crossed.)       

OUCH!

Lost part C25. Carpet monster didn't even get a chance at it, just never existed. Things that make you go hhhhmmmmm ...

Ran into a small dilemma. No holes or marks as to where this seat goes. Just guesses.

Here's where it looks right. Any opinions?

Eh, it's only a flesh wound!  (running away before he tries to bite my kneecaps off!)  Glad to hear you didn't need stitches.

Josh - looks like decent placement to me, although I don't know what else is supposed to be packed into the back of that compartment? Maybe dry-fit whatever other gear is going to get tossed in there? 

dupes, there is going to be a TON of radio equipment back there. I got the fenders and rear door setup together and painted last night. Should have pictures up by this weekend sometime. Passed the half-way point!! Yay!

  Marc welcome aboard friend. These DML1/72 kits are really cool so much detail.

  Okay quick update on my 22. The Eduard shield had to go its actually to small! That's why I couldn't get it to fit properly. So I stripped all the pe parts off and used the kit supplied shield. So now I'm back on track. I'll get some pics up soon.

Steve - sorry to hear about that gun shield. After all that work...

Marc - the first 1/72 entry to the GB! I'm not sure what to call that variant. Hmm. It's not a /1SZF, but it's also not a straight /2. I'll come up with something!

Glad to hear everyone is cranking out their 251's! I'm kicking my project(s) into high gear here in the next couple of days...looks like I'm going to be able to get my girlfriend to do one of the build portions for me, so all I'll have to do on that one is painting and weathering.

How's everyone doing? Any status updates from those of you still unfinished would be great to hear!

SMJ - I know you had talked about getting your son on the Tamiya /9 since JMart had to bail - any luck with that? 

  I've managed to get some paint down and have the interior about half way done.

 I have changed my mind on the white wash and have decided to go with an ambush pattern instead because I want to give the oil dot method try. And I have a dio in mind and the ambush pattern would look a lot better.

OK Marc, you show off!...I'm having a heck of time with the PE at 1:35 and now your going 1:72 on me!  Actually I haven't added any PE to the crate yet, but I have built the first one with the rocket.  The work is time consuming but I expect it will be well worth it!  Good Luck at mini-scale and lay off the wine when you work at that size!

Dupes, OOOO, OOOO, wait, I know the answer to this!!... if I can just remember the details.... it is whatever variant mounted the mortar (is that the /2).  According to what research I did (and I can't remember why I did it) they gave it the same designation because it served the same role as indirect fire support...  ummmmm, I think...?

Oh yeah!!  The entire weekend was gorgeous.  Didn't spend a minute at the bench.  Only difference Marc, is that I waited a while before typing a response, largely because I was also out on the deck but with a martini.     What kind of gin, you ask?   Why,  TANK-er-ay, of course...

  Have managed to get most of the interior done with some help from a little eight rad critter. This guy started to crawl around on my bench while I was working and decided he wanted to climb in for a while.

  Since spiders don't bother me I let him hang around. 

Panzerguy - that interior is looking really good. Nice shot there with your 8-legged buddy...is he posing? Oh yeah, and what's this dio idea you have in mind...?

As for Wingy's little build, I guess I need to ask him something in order to determine what it is.

Marc - is there a mortar tube welded to the floor in the crew compartment? If so, then I'm going to call it a /2 SZF. If there isn't, then I'm going with a /1 SZF, and chalk it up to Dragon mislabeling (wouldn't be the first time). You and SMJ will have to share the designation if that is indeed the case. 

Thinking of trying to tackle two 251's at once...see if I can bang both of them out in 6 weeks. I can do it!!!

I think Dragon mis-labeled Marc's halftrack.  If its a true 251/2, there shouldn't be a forward mounted MG, since the MTR fires forward.  I think the rocket HTs were called Sdkfz 251/1-II by the Germans.  Usually they used plain 'ol 251/1's for mounting rockets, but I've heard they did mount them on several other variants.

Boyd I went with a Raso Tempranillo from Spain.  Nice full bodied red. Goes great with a Romeo y Juileta.  And i's wi-fi.. the wifey doesn't like the smell of all that "man stuff"

  Hey dupes thanks still have to do the washes and the weathering on the interior but it's getting there.

  The dio I have in mind involves either a captured American jeep or a Russian Gaz.It will have the jeep pulling up to the /22 while its restocking ammo that's being delivered by a kettenkrad and they'll be warning the crew of approaching Russian tanks. In the jeep, or Gaz, will be a couple of grenadiers and three wounded panzer crewmen.

  I hope to have it and my t/34 dio done in time for amps.

Panzerguy that is some seriously nice interior work there!  Please, PLEASE, tell me the speedometer face is a decal!!

I've been getting into Spanish wines as of late.  My mom brought me a couple (can't recall which - I have the labels in my 'wine book' downstairs) and recently I had a nice Malbec from Spain.  Picked up a California Malbec at my local wine dealer to see how that compares...
