wing_nutWOW!!!  You turned vanilla to Chunky Monkey!!!....truly exceptional model building.  All of the photos show exceptional talent but my jaw dropped Shock [:O] when I saw those last two shots. The interior is fantastic and the chipping around the jerrycans and rear of this baby is a work of art my friend.  You have raised the bar in the "moderate weathering" camp.  I would give you constructive criticism if I could, but I can't find a flaw...Bow [bow]

I've been debating which paint scheme to use on my Stuka Zu Fuss, but I think you sealed it for me with this one...monotone it is!  So I don't have to scroll back a bunch, please give me your base paint color/mfr and any alterations you made to it if you would. Thanks Marc.

Thanks Steve, I appreciate the very kind words.  The paint is MM enamel dk yellow lightened with a lot of white and some sand biege thrown in there too.  There is a pic of the base color nice and clean about 2/3 the way down on page 29.

And i LOVE Chucky Monkey Tongue [:P]

Do you think Tamiya Dark Yellow would work with the added white and sand/beige?...can't see why not, can you?

I lost my halftrack? Go figure. I guess it will turn back up huh?

Great work again Marc. Didn't e-mail him a recipe for it. Better to let him wonder a bit. I Did e-mail him some country music songs.  Figure gotta have those Harry Potter / Oliver type fellows get some hoe down honky tonkin spirit in em!  Sent him some Alabama but I probably should have sent some Soggy Bottom Boy's ," I'm a Man of Constant Sorrow"  the way my build is going?

I was just checking out Guy's phone pic of his progress and the theme to Benny Hill came on my music player!  Cool! Cool [8D]

Impressive build Wing_nut!  Excellent finish and weathering; very realistic.  The little things like the chain, padlock, the slings and the variation in finish on the rifles really stand out.  Bravo!  Been unsuccessful in finding 42 lpi at the LHS for a while now.  Stuff comes in real handy, doesn't it?  You've modeled it all buttoned up; any intention of adding a crew?

As the first to complete, you've set the bar pretty high for the rest of us.

Thnaks Don.  As far as adding a crew... maybe some day when I learn how to do figures so they look good.  I think a poorly done figure makes a model look bad so I don't want to put a bunch of guys with their eyes popping out like they just ate a piece of the sun.

One last pic.  The mud flaps are now rubber, the exhuast is rust, the MG is mounted on the rear and the chips in the paint have some rust trails (noticed those on a back hoe next to me sitting in construction traffic yesterdaySmile [:)])

Dang. That's definitely the pic I'll use for the end-of-GB photo roundup. All the fixes are good, especially those mudflaps. What, no license plates? Tongue [:P]

Marc that is simply awesome. I love it. Hope you didnt mind me mentioning the 2 things but you've sorted them admirably. It all looks spot on.

Fupes Big Smile [:D], ive seen an awfull lot of period pics that show the lack of rear No. plates. They have the fronts but not the rears. My theory (Are you waiting for this) is that the front was probably painted on and would always be there and the rear was on a plate which was probably beaten off a lot. Whats funny about the phrase 'beaten off a lot'????

Awesome, Marc.... Simply awesome.  When I get crackin' on my /4, expect a regular litany of questions: 'how did you....?', 'When did you....?', 'Why did you ...?' Blush [:I]

Nahhh.  I'll answer the best I can when you're ready. Big Smile [:D]

And Dupes... l looked a bunch of books on the 251 ansd Like Guy said... many without at both ends.  But I did find a pic of a couple from the Herman Coring Div. and while it was not of ther one I did they seemed have the plates.  So what do I do... make up a number since I odn't know whatit was for this vehicle.  (Don't tell the AMPS guysShock [:O])

I'm sure Guy is right...I was just wondering why DML included all of the decals for the plates with the kit (I have the same boxing and pored over the instructions...sure enough, no mention of them?). If you DO decide to apply them, they give you the separate number-jungle so that you can make your own numbers - just be sure to get the right number of digits.

BOYD - can't wait to see the aforementioned /4. What's the ETA on the box-opening?

Well, im calling this one done. Got the camera working (For how long, God knows) The Panzer grey finish was achieved by 1stly giving the entire model a good base of Tamiya Nato black, then using a lightened mix of German grey (Lightened with Buff) i sprayed the centres of each panel making sure that there was a good contrast between the insides and outsides. This gave a fairly patchy effect but is easily blended with a light overspray of the German grey. After a local squirt of Future, the decals went on. I tore the cross on the R/H/S but hid it rather well NOT! I then gave the entire model a wash with MiG's, Blue for panzer grey wash. A local pin wash here and there, a bit of dusting and Voila.

Just look at that last pic. An empty bench, just waiting for another project to rear its ugly head. Sorry for all the Frickin Fotos Fupesy and thx for a great GB. Looking forward to seeing all the 251's together at the end.

Man where to start....  Seems like your MG has too much lite and not enough baka.... There are a whole bunch of antennas and your tracks are really dirty. Also someone forgot there helmet inside and left it where some poor bloke could fall over it. Very Dangerous!

Just kidding as it is so beautiful tears are forming in my eyes. I am all choked up really! There are no words to describe it's amazing wonderment! It is just over the top and gives the feeling you get in your throat about two seconds after taking a shot of a good single malt scotch. There are just not enough superbaltives to overcome the limititations of our language to adequately express my gooeyness that overcomes me when I see these photos!  Wonderment and joy fill my thoughts and I feel as giddy as Samantha Fox in a convent!

I could continue but surelly you get the point, Now to finish mine!

WOW... youdaguy!!!!!  That is freakin' gorgeous.  I was thinking of hanging some tracks off the front but wasn't sure.  That looks a treat.  The radio gear, antennas.... jeez, just all of it looks super.

hey, if you need an extra MG for the rear mount, I got one for ya.

Of course after she gets a look at your 251 she may have to invent a new sexual pref. That thing just gets me hot! Look what it did for her!

Amazing work!!!! Holy have some wires, my head hurts just thinking about how fun that must of been to wire up all that radio equipment. It definitely was worth it though, puts this build over the top. The finish and weathering is awesome also. And I too like the spare links on the front, very cool. You and WINGNUT have raised the bar pretty darn high for the rest of us, no slacking off now. You should be definitely proud of this one, great build.Make a Toast [#toast]

Very Nice!Make a Toast [#toast]  Your wiring is beautiful.  I will remember how you did the gray.  Your coloring really makes it stand out.

As for my /23 well, I finally started construction.  With you and nut_wing showing and telling about the construction problems, it should have a serious amount of work done.  I have a 4 day weekend.

Updates to follow.
