You're both making great progress.

I got started sanding and dry-fitting the major parts on my Resin P-51H.  Here is a picture of the big pieces, prior to sanding.  Note the monster seam on the fuselage!  I had to hit that sucker with 80-grit sandpaper to knock it down.  There's no surface detail left in those areas, so a litte rescribing will be in order.

Ye, it is a good site. I hadn't visited it in ages but it came up when i typed in X-4. I have a few German paper projects i would like to build so i think i will be going back often.

Well my Dragon 1/72 Do-335B-4 is coming along well. It is amazing how much detail they can put into the two little Diamler-Benz DB603 engines. Was just waiting to recieve some RLM Gray paint as it turns out is uses a lot of it in this model. Hopefully I will be able to post some pics up soon.

guardsmen22, your Do-335 seems to be coming along pretty well. Maybe you should build a Tamiya or Dragon Do-335 to keep your sanity.

BigSmitty, also good work. Can the wings swing on that Me 1101 like the real one could?

P.S.- I have already decided upon the kit and conversion set for my Me-262 Zerstörer hybrid. I would really like to but two X-4s under each wing but I am having trouble finding 1/48 X-4s. I hate to buy the Tamiya Ta-183 and take the missiles out of there it being so expensive. Anybody know of a place to get any?

Well I probably will build a Tamiya version later but anyhow,

  After about 6 long hours hunched over my bench filling in the cracks with squadron putty and then sanding it down with 400 grit, which works so nicely on models, you don't have to worry about sanding too much off and when you get down to the level you want the paper will polish the putty if you don't press too hard(so I suggest using it for high detail jobs) unfortunatley I forgot to take a picture of the finished job and I already have the first coat of paint on.  Heres the pre-(6 hour)sanding pics:

Okay here's the camo, its mostly done, just some minor touch-ups then i can dull coat it.  After that comes decals and weathering.

Cool camo.

I'm hopeing to start my bouild some time in November.

My flitzer is almost done!  Painted in Sky blue Kriegsmarine air superiority scheme.  This plane was based with the 2nd SeeFlieger Gedeschwader on the carrier Graf Zepplin.  Flown by Fiegerleutnant zur See Abel Krieger.   PIctures expected by late tonight...

Most everything is installed or prepped for installation, waiting for the Future dipped canopy to fully cure before installing it and painting.  Speaking of, the mottle camo scheme for this bird is nice, so I copied the marking and painting sheet from the instructions, the side views are exactly the same size as the finished model, so after some tedious cutting I have a template of sorts to use with the airbrush.  Hopefully will have some pics up this weekend.

Here are the progress so far.  Seat belts were added from thin foil, painted and the interior given a dark brown wash mostly for seat details.

Some pics of the Do-335B-4:

It is coming along pretty well. The wings are really long! This thing would have grabbed a ton of air. I am going to close the front engine in but leave the one side panel off of the rear engine compartment to so off some of the kits details and possibly make a little dio with a kubelwagen and some groundcrew later.

Those Dorniers are both looking really sweet.

Red, your Flitzer is nicely done!  I dig your paint scheme.  Blue paint for hi-alt?  Also - you're weathering certainly gives it that rough look that German planes had late in the war!  Good work!

Smitty's making hella progress too. 

Believe it or not, I've been working on my 51H from time to time.  I've started painting the prop, and I'm working blemishes out of the parent resin parts.  Not much to look at right now, but she's coming along nicely just the same.

Thanks, IL2; yeah blue for high-alt air superiority.  A carrier based fighter lo-vis scheme, basically.Glad you like it!

Oh dear....

Now, which one was the shinden?  I'm not an IJN/IJA nut, so this is strange to me....What do you plan to do with it?

Actually changed my mind on the Shinden, intead I went with the AMT 1/72 Northrop XB-35 Flying Wing.  I got it at the Buena Park Kit Collectors Show Today.

Oh and red this is the Shinden (for future reference)

Hey red just remember the XB-35 was faster than a FW190  and could fly at 40,000ft.  Oh and don't forget the 20x Browning .50 caliber machine guns(hehe).

This plane is huge though, 1/72 scale still puts the wing span of this beast at over two feet long.

PS its not going to be shiny, no, its going to have the original (planned) WW2 bomber colors.

Hey Guardsmen, Reds Flitzer might not be able to reach 40,000ft without getting shot down, but my proposed Me-262 Zerstörer could launch four X-4s out of .50 cal range and put some large holes in it, if it could climb the extra 2,000ft above its service ceiling. 

That is cool you got the XB-35. I hope you got a good deal on it because Italeri just re-released that same kit and it is like $75.00. A little too expensive for me right now. I have also heard it has giant gaps and some fit problems but builds up pretty nice. Should be interesting and I can't wait to see it built.

I bought it brand new for $35, at a model swap meet, and yeah it would have been expensive everywhere else.

So far just testfiting it, there haven't been any major gaps, and any problems can be fixed with a little sanding(Thank GOD!) but so far its been a great kit, well worth the money.

Oh and warhammer, you still have to try to hit it with the X-4s to put holes in it(the XB-35 was a lot more manueverable than a B-17) and to improve accuracy you would to have got closer and then all twenty of the .50s would say hello.()
