AH HA! here it all is... I have used Ron's site also with no problems...

Now I feel ashamed..Ashamed [*^_^*]..my home computer(Alienware) has about 10 usb2 ports on it and now I learn there are some folk who don't have any.... Kinda like watching one of those Sally Struthers commercials...

God Bless,
Kenneth

Here's a couple shots:

Looking good Frosty. I had a bad setback with my scratchbuilt turret. I took a day off and hit it again the day after, second try looks pretty good.
Stick with it. Thumbs Up [tup]

hi, all !
here's the latest news on my project.
took a short break from 'plastic surgery' to work on the drive train:
painted road wheel rubber
installed road wheels, idlers & drive sprockets

then back 2 the styrene stash 2 build more parts:
false backplate installed
false mantlet cut & installed
added step 2 bow plate

didn't get a heck of a lot more done on this, 'cause i'm actually still kinda sick... Sad [:(]Sad [:(]Sad [:(]
but i think i'm still on schedule so far.
it's really beginning 2 look like something now, the shape of the treacherous ersatz begins 2 emerge from the shadows !

pix will b posted asap, i promise !

best wishes & happy modeling,
frostySmile [:)]

Well, i did a bunch of work on the ersatz over the last couple of days...

the turret armor is done, the side skirts r on, and i added a lot of lift hooks
and small fittings to the turret top, mantlet, glacis plate, lower bow plate,
and back plate. the beastie has been painted a dk. green, and circle star
decals applied 2 glacis plate & turret side armor.

so, apart from a few last details like spare tk. racks & the lenses 4 the rear lights, i'm pretty much done w/ this little kittykat !!! joy, joy...Big Smile [:D].

gotta say it turned out pretty well 4 my first major 'plastic surgery ' conversion, altho' if i had 2 do it again, i'd try & do a bit more sanding on the putty & i don't think i nailed the overhang of the rear turret plate... Sad [:(]

but, crude as it may b, it's all mine ! Big Smile [:D] and i love it !!!

pix will b posted tomorrow if all goes well !!!
(i know, now the anticipation will b killing some of u, but u'll just have 2 wait & see... my apologies !)
hope everyone else is having fun w/ their build ...
i can hardly wait 2 see the rest of these projects !

thanx again !
so...
there it is, just about finished.
looking at the pix, i noticed that there was a little unpainted area inside the turrret armor on one side, but i hit it with a small brush & some OD early this AM.
also added the missing tow shackle on the left front mount at the same time,
4 those of u w/ really sharp eyes.

this is how it worked out:
started w/ the 1/72 hasegawa Panther ausf G kit...
conversion parts scratchbuilt from styrene sheet, strip, rod & tube
details from styrene rod & strip, brass tube, copper & stainless steel wire
exactly 3 commercially produced detail parts:
HO scale A Line stirrup step and
2 HO scale A Line drop-style grabirons

no p/e or resin was harmed in the making of this model Big Smile [:D]Big Smile [:D]

danke shoen ! Big Smile [:D]

i also forgot 2 mention the article by Art Loder in FSM on doing this conversion in 1/35, which was my main guide 2 doing this project.
i did have 2 do some "thinking in new ways" to adapt it 2 1/72, tho' ! Wink [;)]

it was really a fun project, and i think it looks really close 2 the original
(IMHO, anyway) Blush [:I]Blush [:I]
