I would be interested in an M10 build and am open to start dates - should have all my started kits finished over Christmas.

Love to be in Sherman build, but I'll have visiting family in January and will be hard pressed to finish the Panther - unless I can use the 1/2 done Acadamy Achilles that is sitting here. Only prob is I just gotta replace the kit's whimpy muzzle brake (It's about 3/4 of the right size).

I'm in for any allied armor builds, I'm easy on the subject. There are sooooo many great kits out there. I've started an M1IP (my old tank) and stopped for a while, so that might be an idea for my M1 build... hmmmm. I say this with Patton's Patton sitting in pieces on my work table and our Guard unit on alert for possible deployment....

Sherm, I'm in.

Edog, I'm in too, although I think we need to have some sort of common goal, to exchange tips and ideas, so what about a Battle of the Bulge diorama.. So, it would be a diorama group build..!

I would like to wait for the Firefly but if it won't come I might shift to an M10 or M36.

sounds good to me, count me in don't know what I'll get until I get to the LHS. I am starting to get better at scratchbuilding, I did a pair of smoke launchers for my 1/72 crusader and I must say they look pretty good.

OK .... OK ..... OK .... I finally made it here.

All right after reading everyone's posts re the Sherman build. The other 2 members who have not been on the forums for the last couple of days are thinking of building M4A4 and Firefly kits ..... so that eliminates Battle of the Bulge.

But I do hear that some are interested in doing an M10 so how does this sound to everyone.

Sherman and all variants thereof. This opens up the build to include M10's, M36's, M35's, M32's, Achilles, etc.
- All scales
- All OOB except for scratchbuilt details
- No AM parts except decals.
- No PE

Start date - January 1st or 15th

Give me feed back please.
Happy Modelling and God Bless Robert

I've got the Italeri Marines Sherman, Dragon Firefly (and hopefully one of the new ones after Christmas), and the Trumpeter M1A2. I'd be okay with any of those...AFTER the Panther build is finito.

Sorry I haven't been on this week. I've been very sick. Tomorrow will be my third day straight home from work. Doc says bronchaits(sp?). Got me on all kinds of drugs. Ya Ho. Really helps with those fine motor skills!! lol

M1, Battle of the Buldge, I'll be up for either when the Panther Build is finished. I'll give the Russian build a miss as the only russian thing I have is the old Kaz jeep...not a big ruskie fan.

Edog, scratchbuilding from the spares box....does that included kits salvaged from damage from the wife and son? I had more parts than the original LVTP7A kit after they finished with it....and I had some missing (LOL). Just joking here.

You know, the more I think about it, the more I think we should do a time period theme group build instead a of vehicle theme. Fore example, if we do a battle of the bulge build, we could have both allied, and axis vehicles included. This gives us a much bigger variety of vehicles to choose from while still keeping the topic specific. Another one would be Kursk. How about the 6 day war, Vietnam, or Desert Storm? Or how about modern day main battle tanks??? Yah, I know perhaps I am thinking too much again.

Personally, my vote goes for the Bulge theme, or how about that challenge with they fly boys??? I have been meaning to build a Corsair for a while now anyway.Big Smile [:D]

I could go for both M1 and Sherman build. However, I would like my Sherman to be the Firefly but that kit is not available here yet.

I am also open to edog's challenge. Anyway I am into A/C, too. I would say that the flyboys will have an edge on this one though if it happens. Weathering A/C is a bit trickier than tanks. We will just dare them to use indy tracks. That will level the field a little bit. LOL.

OK I'll wait for confirmations on the M1 and Sherman build.

Decisions.....decisions. M1 build, Battlle of Bulge build, Russian build. Confused [%-)] I'd be open for the M1 or Bulge build. Sorry I have no Russian tanks as of yet. Might as well wait till March, that way any Sherman builders can join in. I say open to any scale.

I'll second this idea. I'm so up for a Russian/Soviet group build be it modern or WW2. I'm working on the Skif 2s1 now and will probably start a T-62BDD conversion after the 2s1 is finished.

ok the M1 build is set for sometime in March (dates TBA), that way the panther people will be done and the sherman build should be about done. But I would like to now all the rules and dates of the sherman build ASAP because I am very interested in joining (my first choice was WWII allied) and I am going to the HS' this weekend and can get a kit for it.

well, if it's February or March, i think i'll b ready 4 another project ...
my personal vote would b 4 the M1 Abrams build, since i'm starting 2 have a few of these hanging around just asking 2 b built.
i could go w/ either 1/72 or 1/35 scale, not that i'm a Major G. level collector of Abrams kits, but i do seem 2 have ended up with a few of these puppies & could use a good reason 2 get 2 work on 1 ! Smile [:)]
OTOH, i've also got an italeri Sherman in 1/35 and another in 1/72, so i'm covered there, too.Wink [;)]
thanx 4 the heads-up !

I'm in, I've got leave coming up soon and I'm staying here till at least the 4th of jan?
I've got an academy bradley m-2 I've been needing an excuse to start plus a hmmwv I'm working on now? But I could go pick up an m-1 before the PXtra sells out?

Would we be placeing them in a dio?
and the timeframe also, I'm getting ready to roll somewhere in the near future so I'd have to finnish mine w/in my leave or shortly before my departure.

I posted this a lil' prematurlely, I didn't see the page two of posts, so it's a sherman build now then later the modern?

I'd love to participate but my deployment will run me into problems, you know the whole supplies thing then getting on the internet and the rest of the fun stressful things that go with that. ???????????????????????????????????????????????????? what to do what to do???????????????
