Bodges 1/48 Tiger 1 by AFV Club (Quick build)

Very nice job Andy, it's hard to tell it's 1/48 and not 1/35. Your weathering on this one is damn near perfect.

That came out fanatistic! The figure painting is also spot on, I 've tried and been frustrated at painting figures in this scale.  But yours is an inspiration to give it another try.

I have the Tamiya Tiger and the AFV Sturmtiger in my stash, so I'll definitely be diving into them after seeing your effort.

It appears totally ⅓5 in scale and 100% in looks.

I darn near missed this one!  I am glad I did not.  If you would have told me that this was 1/35 I would have believed it. The field worn look is well done and, the chipping appears random but in areas that would get the wear and tear. Bravo! Astounding figure painting by the way.

Hmm, she's not bad

WOW! What a beautiful build-especially for 1/48! It just so happens that, like many people, the Tiger I is my all time favourite tank. The first kit I ever built was the 1/48 Tamiya Tiger I in June/July last year-I painted it Panzer Grey. Tbh it's pretty poor but at the time I thought it was AMAZING!

I've just bought exactly the same kit with a the Tamiya 1/48 German Tank Field Maintenance Crew set-I'm going for a little dio, just a nice base with some maintenance work being done. I've opted for Dunkelgelb. Let's just hope that the L&L tracks work a little bit better this time. 

I'll definately be keeping the link to this page as you've emulated EXACTLY the look I'm after. The Tamiya kit doesn't come with the Cupola mounted MG42 so I might see if I can scratch a base and get an MG on it-I've got a spare MG42 and belted rounds included in the Halftrack kit I have in my stash.

First off it is always good to watch your builds. I still await the completion of your FAMO as I am sure many others do. That undercarriage is wicked looking!!!

One of the 'nagging" questions I have since getting into armor is regarding tracks.

I notice that you primed, and based coated your tracks while on the vehicle.

The question I have is did you remove the tracks for the final coat??? and then reattach?

Ibuild148 I did paints the tracks in situe on this one but some times i paint them off the vehicle. It depends on the type and how i feel. I have no rules, Beat me.
