Marc - I know my vision is bad but I am seeing spots!!!....Very nice...

Minor tidbits...

Looking at the second pic the antenna on the left looks a bit askew.....

The smoke launchers....normally the modern smoke launchers when loaded, the caps are color coded for WP and HC smoke (light green and black). In a bank of 4 there may be 2 of each.

Personal preferance.....gas cans always leak a bit and there is always a spill around the fuel fill cap on the vehicle. You may want to show some stains....I know, really anal

Your looking great!!

dupes:  WOW!!!...I mean REALLY WOW!!! I suspect this will be by far your best work to date.  I am TOTALLY impressed!  Can't wait to see the next step.  What are your plans for painting the fig's?  Will you be using Hermes toot?  Did you ever stock-up those Vallejo's he recommended?

Thanks a ton fellas! It's coming out even better than I thought, which is why it's taking a bit longer than expected. Trying to get one right.

Steve squared - I certainly wouldn't mind pulling down a gold at AMPS East this year...(finally) moving into the advanced category would be pretty sweet! Cool As for the figs, I did snag a suitcase of Vallejo paints last year. However, no painting plan as of  yet. Got a few toots I could use, need to pick one and go for it.

Mr.Leg - not anal at all. Need to do what it takes to get this guy up to the top rung! 1) That antenna isn't attached permanently yet - still need to paint the green striping on it. Will be sure to line them up properly when they hit the super glue. 2) Any idea what color "light green" might correspond to for the WP launchers? 3) Any chance you know where the fuel fill cap is on this brute? There are a couple of possible locations...maybe I should just hit 'em both?

dupes:  FYI: Make sure you copy/ source your research AND your WIP photos, especially your scratched stuff.  They are worth  1 1/2 points on the scoring, if I recall, and it could make or break you taking GOLD.

Marc - A close color is Tamiya XF-71 Cockpit Green. It is not perfect but for such a small spot it will work. MM has similar light green colors if you are an enamel man.

As far as where the fuel fill is With Stupid....me no do tanks.....me do artillery....me do US.....but it will be near the engine compartment and should be some sort of molded in cap. Multiple caps may be for left and right fuel tanks and a third cap may be for oil.

Hope that helps

Think I found 'em, Mike. Wink

Tarps are painted, and the weathering has officially begun. Started off with a straight black wash on the back end to add some depth to the exhaust baffles.

Pics to come!

What the heck??  How did I miss this WIP??Tongue Tied  I know I haven't been frequenting the GB forum during the last few weeks, but I've still been hanging around the Armor forum. Confused  Anyway, we don't often see modern Japanese tanks here and especially not one in a unique winter camo scheme!  Very very different and very very nice build dupes!Yes  This is going to look amazing when done!

Ernest - sorry you didn't see it until now...also sorry I haven't been better about updating it. Will post up some pics tomorrow. Gray wash on, green drybrushing - up next is the black/brown pin wash. After that it's time for some snow. Yes
