Iraqi T-69II wreck...finally done

I've never before seen that level of respect given to a gutted tank. The detail in the springs and the twisted metal is great. This is going to be INCREDIBLE when you're finished!

Sorry for not updating this. The painting has already started and am working on the weathering, and also have to do more inn the turret area. Here is what it looks like at the moment.

I have also done some painting on one of the sets from Celticwerks. I have been painting both at the same time and also trying to video the painting of the resin set. Here are a couple of pics of that.

There is just something that is SO RIGHT about Iraqi armor that is blasted to scrap.  Love the look you have going on these builds, truly masterful.  Definitely a learning moment for me, I'll be watching this one.

Thanks gents, glad you like how the painting is coming along so far. It's been a long project, and with the added work for Celticwerks it has taken longer than planned. Besides working on this I have also been playing around doing videos, not the greatest, but it's a start.

Hey Karl thanks for the very kind words buddy much appreciated. I finished and posted the last video for the Celticwerks m-comp. so now I can get back to work on this model so I can start something else soon.

This update is of the finished building part of this project. I spent some time on it the past few days and got all the exterior finished. Here is how it looks at the moment.

 I am real excited about this project. The T-69II is realy starting to look tough! The fenders in particular look outstanding, they realy give a lot of character.

This project will most likely be the last complete build for a while. I plan for 2011 to do more masters of various Russian stuff, more how-to videos, more on my site, mag articles and rust painting workshops. I'll still be at the bench but doing something different.

Painting this model will start this weekend, depending on the new years hang-over

Hey Karl, thank bro. This is something I had planned on doing about 10-15 years ago when I was realy into scratch building. The AM guys put a damper on that until now.  can't beat em, join em.

Agree with all comments made but have to emphasize the look you achieved with the turret opening / damage.  Great work, waiting for more.

Stunning work... As I said on another forum, I LOVE the junk casting in the floor. The paint work is also first class! Can't wait to see the next installment.

I spent a few hours applying the base colors to the model, and here is how it looks at the moment.

Detail painting and weathering with MIG products still have to be done to bring this wreck to life.

You are 'da man' as they say.

You have really nailed the look.  I swear I saw that tank in Kuwait in '91.  That is the effect you have achieved.  WELL DONE!
