Tony, all that brass is unbelieveble, looks just great !!
This is so sick!!! You are offically our PE King now. Did those artillery shells come in flat sheets and you had to work on them or they were already round?
Andy
Holy PE Batman.
Eric
You really should consider getting into jewelry making........
Wow Tony, that pe looks great! Do you use an optivsor? I do, but I still have a hard time with some pe parts....like tool clasps.
Nate
Brass looks good Tony, making the seats workable is a nice touch as well!
BP Models
No way could I roll my own shells. I read that a watch making company makes most of the turned stuff for the model industry.
Nate I use glasses, two different power optivsors and a magnifying glass lamp.
Glad you like my efforts
Hey,
you're supposed to be takin' the day off.
I did take the day off but when I found out the Super Bowl was going to come on so late in the day I had to do something.
NO PE work but I found out that you ain't going to Slam and Jam that sight mechanism together.
Pictures later
Pretty good ball game. I thought Pitt was going to pull it out or at least tie it up,Sorry Steelers.
Here's that picture of the breech and sight I assembled today:
See Ya Tomorrow
Sheesh, Tony; you make it awfully hard to do a regular OOB build with all that darned brass detail going on all the time! .............
Knock it off already!
lol!
Looking great, but we all expected that....
Oh.....the minature tin knocker is at it again....you are the king of PE

'5M' would be easier for me to remember... I am not that smart.
Hey 5M, looking forward to your next update. I believe this is the most PE work you have done so far. I feel the pain in my fingers every time I see your photo showing lots of PE works...
Have a great day, my friend 5M!
Hi
Taking the day off lead me to just piddle around a little today. Added a few small parts and did some dry fitting.
Tried something just to see if I could do it. I drilled the scissor scope bracket and shaft and put a pin through it so the scope could be swung around out of the way.
I quit for the day while I was ahead.
I like the pin addition Tony...the Optivisor truly paid off with that one I'm sure!
Yep Optivisor did come in handy but a drill press would have been nice to have.
What have you got coming up on the bench bud?
Tony Lee
Gave the old eyes a rest today and installed the working suspension and wheels.
The kit includes both the early and late wheel caps. The instructions say use the early but the spare on the back has the late cap. Use the early, the late or mix and match??????
See Ya Later
Theres no holding you back now Tony, brilliant work there and again, sorry I'm speechless.
Terry.
Thanks Terry but no up date for the Max today had to work on the Emil a little bit.
Not enough hours in the day.
Tony,
Been working on a Hetzer project, slowly making progress with it, but that's all that's on tap for now.
As to your wheel cap question, it depends on "when" in the life of Max you're wanting to show it. The original ones had the earlier style caps and of the 2 "Max" that saw combat, one served much longer than the other and was also seen with the older style wheels before it was shipped back to Germany.
Hi Bill, yeah i've been watching the Hetzer.
From a couple of pictures i've come across #1 may not of had a wooden slated floor in the fighting compartment but #2 did have the slated floor.
#1 Had the early caps and #2 Had the later caps. One picture of #1 may have a late cap on the left #1 road wheel. As far as the spare on the back of #1 ???????? If that one picture shows a late cap on the left front I would think it came from using the spare on the back???????
Take care my friend
fantastic work Tony
All entirely plausible Tony, the issue of spares was always a matter of whatever was being produced and shipped out at the time...so the longer Max was in the field, the more likely that it would get the older style caps as wheels needed to be replaced, maintenance was performed, etc.
Tracks for the Max and a new floor in the basement.
Turn your visitors pass in at the gate when you leave Please
Hi mate long time no speak so to say.
That is awsome all that bling. Can i buy one of these from the jewlers?
Really nice work Tony, too good to paint . Yer as karl said can you lower the bar a bit?
Andy.
Quality work as always Tony.
"Jewlers" You would have better luck finding mine at the Dollar Store Thrift Shop Bodge
Karl is what I call a "PUSHER" and one of the reasons for this.
Glad you could find time to stop by old buddy,Thanks
And you too Tigerman,Thanks
Nice work on the tracks and the new floor looks good as well Tony! You might want to space them a little wider since they were meant to be duckboards and removable though vs. solid flooring.
