Will you folks take a close look at that tow cable, don't you think it's too large for scale??????

It was the only thing I had and I thought it might work but just in case I glued the ends on with Gator Grip and they can be pulled off without any trouble.

Thanks for your opinions

Thats some super looking brass you got going on there friend, My eyeballs are reeling from the strain of looking at that stuff. I am still muddeling along on all that brass in the Griffon Brummbar interior, five sheets, ouch!!

Warm ups on the way,and I believe I see a paint booth getting fired up here shortlyStick out tongue. I believe we made it to forty degrees plus. I'm going to miss the winter and the snow. But theres next winter. I will not miss the heating bill.

Ok keep us updated, cant wait to see all those spgs you got going.

I don't know how I missed this build so far. It looks amazing specially with all the added PE. Beer The tow cable may be a little too thick. It may look different after painting.

Again, some impressive level of detail you've got going Tony!

I think the scale size of the cable is fine, honestly. I wouldn't change it at all.

Thanks everybody. I know most said the cable was fine and others said it might be just a little fat so I compromised.  I made a set of new cables with one less strand bundle. Cable ends reinstalled and the glue is curing so pictures to follow.

Thanks for your opinions

Man, you are the man!  No kidding... I have been dealing with brass PE for last few nights on my M24 Chaffee for Korea War GB.  I am afraid I cussed plenty... good thing my boys can't hear me cause I signed in American Sign Language (ASL). Angry

Anyway, I think the first attempt looked better... but that's my opinion.  Either way is far better than what I would have come up with.

Do you have one of those PE bending tools?  I almost brought one at model show last week but I didn't because the vendor was asking for $60.  Now I wish I did unless it is not the tool you use...

Yeah Andy I have a "Hold and Fold" and use my tweezers and thumb nail for the smaller parts.

The Hold and Folds are pretty salty but if you plan on doing a lot of PE as I do they are worth the expense.

At least you're trying Andy

Tony the cable looks way better.  The size look better and the twist is more even than before.  You nailed it this time.

You said 1 less bundle.  How did you make the cable?  Now many bundles of how many wires?  And do you know what size the wire is?  has to be small.

Wingy, each strand bundle is .008 and there was eight of them for the first set. The new one has seven strand bundles for a total dia. of .030

For sometime now i've been collecting copper wire. I never throw anything away until I take it apart to see if there's something that I might be able to use for my models, doesn't everyone?????Big Smile

Thanks my friend

Tony - First I apologize for not stopping in lately....I'm a bad boy Crying Trying to contain the large mammal which deficated at a rotating object....I'm glad that is done

Now the cable looks fantastic and I have run out of platertudes about your brass. Your PE work is beyond reproach.

Weather is warming up....time to charge up the paint soon Wink

Well, new shift here at the bunker...I'll be watching!
