Hi Bill,yeah i've been watching the Hetzer.

From a couple of pictures i've come across #1 may not of had a wooden slated floor in the fighting compartment but #2 did have the slated floor.

#1 Had the early caps and #2 Had the later caps. One picture of #1 may have a late cap on the left #1 road wheel.  As far as the spare on the back of #1 ???????? If that one picture shows a late cap on the left front I would think it came from using the spare on the back???????

Been working on a Hetzer project, slowly making progress with it, but that's all that's on tap for now.

As to your wheel cap question, it depends on "when" in the life of Max you're wanting to show it. The original ones had the earlier style caps and of the 2 "Max" that saw combat, one served much longer than the other and was also seen with the older style wheels before it was shipped back to Germany.

Gave the old eyes a rest today and installed the working suspension and wheels.

The kit includes both the early and late wheel caps. The instructions say use the early but the spare on the back has the late cap.  Use the early,the late or mix and match??????

Yep Optivisor did come in handy but a drill press would have been nice to have.

I like the pin addition Tony...the Optivisor truly paid off with that one I'm sure!

Taking the day off lead me to just piddle around a little today. Added a few small parts and did some dry fitting.

Tried something just to see if I could do it. I drilled the scissor scope bracket and shaft and put a pin through it so the scope could be swung around out of the way.

I quit for the day while I was ahead.

I did take the day off but when I found out the Super Bowl was going to come on so late in the day I had to do something.

NO PE work but I found out that you ain't going to Slam and Jam that sight mechanism together.

No way could I roll my own shells. I read that a watch making company makes most of the turned stuff for the model industry.

Nate I use glasses,two different power optivsors and a magnifying glass lamp.

Brass looks good Tony, making the seats workable is a nice touch as well!

Wow Tony, that pe looks great! Do you use an optivsor? I do, but I still have a hard time with some pe parts....like tool clasps.

Thanks guys:  I put in a full day and most of it was makin shiny stuff. More boxes which need their latches and the seat frames.

The back rest even work,sexy huh

I'll put the latches on and do some clean up Monday. Taking tomorrow off,Super Bowl Sunday you know.
