Well it has been a while. First a week on vacation then I returned to Irene and a flooded basement. After a month to clean up and dry out, I finally have time to get to the bench and finish this build.
The final details include
· Radio antennas - .020 brass wire
· Antenna caps - .030 styrene rod and .010 punched styrene sheet
· Antenna wiring – thin solder painted Flat black
· Fuel Can straps – leftover PE
· M2 – Academy M2 with Lion Roar Barrel. Painted with my Parkerized finish.
· M2 – Ammo, Tamiya parts box for the mount and ammo can and Academy MG set ammunition. Mount painted Tamiya NATO Green, Box painted Polyscale Dk Tactical Green, ammunition painted Alclad Pale Gold with Tamiya Copper for the heads and Tamiya Flat Black for the belt.
· Decal for the viewfinder on the vision head.
Most of the details were weathered with the mix of MIG Industrial Dirt and Desert Storm Sand pigments along with some final touchups. Added some dry brushing of the chain, tow hooks and winch area with some Dark Sienna Oil for rust and #2 pencil for steel scratches. I added fuel spillage at the fuel caps and on the cans with Floquil Wet Oil.
The base is Cell-u-clay with some sand mixed in and colored with a mix of Tamiya Buff and Light Grey. After setting the rocks were added to give the roadside effect. Yes…real rocks.
So without further adieu
