Nice work and reworked details done!

Now all the fun part is over and you have to cover it all up with paint Big Smile

PAINT?  Did I hear someone say paint?

Thanks for the comments guys.  It's been fun so far.  am planning on trying a preshade technique on another Enigma that looks quite interesting.

Had a biz trip to Chicago to learn new marketing strategies that will likely generation more biz.  That’s the good news.  Bad news is it is one more thing to keep me away from the bench… on top of the things that are already doing such a good job of that.

That said, with the assembly of the tracks I am, except for some minor details, finally to the point of prime & paint.

My balsa jig makes Friuls a breeze.  2 strips glued to a wide piece with a slot for the guide horn.  Double stick tape holds it all in place.  Setting the drill bit to a depth that won’t go thought the other side and move on down the line.  Pin and clip.

Here is the completed model before a little cleaning and some Mr. Surfacer 1200.

Steve thanks mucho.   i enjoy that small stuff.  I get all caught up in it thoguh and it bogs down after a bit. Gottatear ysoelkf away ro I'll end up in the looney bin.

Thanks manny.  You realize you are responsible for this.  I went out and git the the next day after you started the Enigma thread.

Tread my man.  That was the perfect link.  I was mulling over some sort of pre-shading since the light color of the finish real lends itself to that.  Dunno if you saw it but there's another just above that one that will be starting the paint soon too.  And thanks for the compliment too.

Marc, Steve, Mike... So sorry for not thanking you for your comments.  Gotta start paying attentionWhistling

Slowly but surely I get closer to one of those big landmarks in a build…a coat of paint.  And only 9 days between updates instead of 18 last time.

Some tedious work getting the searchlights done with some real micro PE pieces.  They don’t show well in the photos but I used a lot of Scale Hardware brass hew bolts and hex nuts.  Gotta remember to do the wiring

Made a new cage for the headlight out of wire.  Brass tune for the conduit and wire from a cheap pair is ear bud headphones.

The exhaust guard was made by burnishing lead foil over the kit part and used the PE mounting brackets.

I started the turret armor by cut off the tab on the back, since it is centered on the cut line for separating the blocks, and made new ones for when they get attached to the brackets. .  Once cut some .005 plastic card was glued on the open sides top makes sure they were solid if looking into the gap.  After these were taken I did some of the obligatory weld “crapping up”

Marc: She's looking sweet!  Don't feel like you're on any schedule...do the tedious stuff when you're in the right mood and eventually it will get done.  The payoff will be worth it, the details look really goodYes!

Marc - I know what you mean about losing your motivation when the going gets slow...always feels better to be banging stuff out at a rapid pace. Looks awesome, though, keep at it!

Tread, you're not kidding about all the stuff on the outside.  Lots of stuff to play with.

Shell, i didn't know eitherStick out tongue

Tman, thanks buddy.

Bill,  Yes,  I long for that balance of steady work on a model intertwined with real life instead of fits and starts.   Ah to dream.

Hey Marc :  )

Doing a bang -up job man !YesBeer !

What makes these Soviet tanks so cool (aside from how aesthetically pleasing they are ) is all the s 'Stuff ' on the outside . The large amount of fuel lines, wiring, torsion springs for the front fenders ,holders for this, brackets for that, most of which is on the inside of everybody else's tanks. your doing a great job with detail down to minutia.

Keep up the good work,buddy

looking forward to the next installment !

Cool pic CJ.  SMJ, gotta agree that does look cool.  maybe the next EnigmaWhistling

When my current modeling apathy isn’t strong enough to keep me from the bench, I have been able to make a bit of progress.  It's tough to stay interested when the going is slow.  But I am plugging away.

Added conduits and wiring for the formation lights.  Fuel lines with scratched band clamps.

I used some Plastruc angle strips to make the rail on the rear deck.  The support bar for the rear armor is molded to the back piece and had to be cut off to separate the bocks so the welds could be “uglified”.  A new crossbar was scratched and Tichy bolts added.

That's a nice looking tank in the photo, love to tackle a beast like that for a diorama (but it'd nigh impossible to find 1/35 iraqis)

Also loving the work on the other T55, a very under-appreciated tank in my opinion.
