Hi, Marc, I must say that I'm delighted that you have called this one done, overall a great build log and a great presentation of all your building and painting skills in one place, just brilliant.

Damn that's nice Marc!  The chipping you did adds that extra touch and really makes it look like a battle hardened desert warrior!  And it contrasts very nicely with the sand colored paint job!  I'd say your first build after your hiatus is a resounding success!!  YesYes

Marc , very convincing weathering . The color difference of the running gear from the rest of the tank is an interestiung point . Does that represent the dirt from the terrain the tank traveled through or is it showing a suttle color variation in the painting of the equipment ? I like the chipping you did also . Is it the 'sponge" technique . Thats something i havent tried yet. The only addition i can think of that could add to this is a figure or two. I dont know if you do figures though . But it looks great just the way it sits now .

Thanks so much for all the encouragement and kind words.  It did feel good to get back to the bench.  the weird thing though, as I said earlier, by now I would have made up my mind, and changed it 5 times, of what to do next.  Maybe I need to do one of the votes and let you guys decide.  But now I have to decide what to put up for the voteTongue Tied

Shell, yes the rust is done with a sponge and oil paint..  The wheel color was a 2 part though process.  Extra dirty and oily from maintenance was omne.  The other was the idea of the color set being how light was hitting the vehicle.  Thinking these are just shaded more.  I even put the darker wheels under the side armor.

Mike  AMPS is definitely in my plan.  But you know what they say about the best laid plans.Wink

I can't think of anything for you to do next.  Everything looks spot on.  Oh, maybe a figure? LOL  She is a BEAUTY!!!  And I am not lying...

Are you going to build something next or wait til Steel Cats GB to kick off if you have signed up?

Thanks Andy.  I forgot about the GB.  That may be a possibility.

I am planning on figures.  meant to say that above.  the kit comes with a very nice Iraqi guy holding binoculars.  Won't be too hard to hand in the air with a couple US Infantry guys covering him.

Outstanding work on this one, Marc---the detailing you put into it should make your name be uttered in whispered tones on this forum. Just superior!!!

Love the finish; can't find any objective fault with This should do well for you in the contest realm!

You voted for the winning side... no more weatheringWink

I started to work on the firgures for the base.  The kits comes with a nice Iraqi tanker inthe pose as seen on the box top.  I modified him to a different positionWhistling.  If it looks familiar but you can't quite put your finger on it... the other figures will be US Infantry, well armed US Infantry.

Marc:  Ahhhh........well done.  Subtle, but effective chipping.YesYes  This is a real nice build my friend, I'm looking forward to seeing her first-hand at AMPS East.  Like you, my best laid plans are to attend this year.

You should jump-in on the Steel Cats GB!  It starts in September and runs 6 months +... It  gives you another reason to go to AMPs and score a kit/ AM goodies.Stick out tongue

Very nicely done Marc . I'd say he's one of the lucky ones ...... still being alive and not blasted into a ba-zillion pieces like a lot of them were with their tanks ,
