Ya gotta love the 38Ts

Joe

It's not about how fast you get there or even where you're going. It's whether you enjoy the ride.

Well the wash has dried. Added some chipping with oils and some drybrushing with craft store acrylics. Will start on the hanging turret radio set next and then hopefully I can focus on the outside of this little fella and get some camo going.

And a quick test fit into its spot

And thats it for today! Hopefully more ahead soon!

Thanks for the warm welcome back everyone!! Phil, I think you are correct about it being a KwK38.

Heya Eric,

Love the work you've done so far.

Just some thoughts about the barrel - it looks a bit short for a Flak 38, perhaps it's a KwK 38? You may wish to consider the later Griffon or Voyager offerings. These have the textured areas on the barrel and include a PE mag and PE surround for the slot in the body of the gun.

Glad to see you back Eric. Neat little subject and like Terry said, I too have a soft spot for the 38t family.

Interesting looking build. As for the barrel, i am guessing this is a 2cm Flak gun. I would normally go for Aber or Armorscale/RB.

But this review on PMMS might help, assuming its the right barrel.

I guess the itch to be at the bench has returned as of late as I find myself spending more and more time there. Been building mainly a/c lately but I've been wanting to get back to this one for a while now. This is the Dragon kit and was started some time ago. I was initially excited about the build as I thought it was an interesting vehicle and the 2cm gun and mount is pretty cool. This kit is a complex kit and is by no means perfect. Some strange fit/build in some of the assemblies to be sure. Here is the hull with interior painted and weathered as much as its going to be. Going to try and get this one done by the 17th of next month in case I decide to go to AMPS in Atlanta.

And here is where I am on the 2cm turret. It has been painted Tamiya dark yellow lightened about 30 percent and has had a wash. Waiting for it to dry to start some chipping and drybrushing. Between the lighting/pics/wash it actually looks a lot darker than it is.

I am contemplating replacing the barrel with a turned brass one. Any recommendations?

Eric
