Well, I finally got the first trailer finished, and again, a big thanks to Clemen's for those pics.
As always, the members of this forum pull out the stop's.
Firstly the box on the trailers. This is what they should look like.
And this is how they come. You can see the over sized rivets, thick lid, the hinge on the back which allows the lid to just be clicked in place and the poor catch.
To fix this, the rivets, hinge and front of the catch were removed and the lid thinned. For the r9ivets, I drilled 9 small holes and put in a thin piece of plastic rod. Once dry, I cut it close to the base then rounded off with a small file. I built a catch and put plastic strip round the edge so it over hangs the box more.
As for the rest of the trailer, this is the one I have still to finish with the pieces to be removed rined.
And here you can see which parts have been replaced. Other items changed were done so because they were to thick or solid plastic when they should not be.
Now to get the next one done.
Roy, I got my March issue today and saw your item in there. I had seen that link at the bottom of your sig, but didn't realise what I was. I looked at the article and thought I know that name.
Congrats on getting in the mag. Is the AMPS open to members from outside the States?
