Awsome job! Followed along the whole way. Love the straight on barrel shot, so menacing.

Be careful of what you ask for, you just might get it.

Really nice build Tojo. the figures add a lot to the composition of the base.

It's an amazing diorama.  I especially like the shot looking right into the barrel.  Would hate to find that pointed in my direction!

Lol playing 'Order of Battle: Red Storm' on the PC now. I bought a couple IS-2s - it's fun to see how they smash German tanks to bits!

This is an outstanding project. The JS series is one of my favorite tanks coming out in WW2 and post war. I've got an ancient Italeri one made by Zvezda that Ive used bits and pieces from the Tamiya kit to bring it up to standard.

Oh that looks sharp Tojo!

And a few washes and some dry-brushing and that base will really 'pop'!

Thank you for your comment, you always have something to say.

Yes,the base in the picture is straight out of the box,I have just started to paint it now.

Well, the vehicle is pretty much done, just need to decide about the hatches.I got this resin street base for it,I plan to add the figures on and around the tank in a simple scene.

Keyserj

The rough look of those stripes looks great. Just curious, were the white id stripes just for the invasion of Germany, or did the Russian's also use them earlier on in the war?

Thanks

You got me,I always associated them with the Berlin Offensive which started 4/15/45,but I'm not sure.

They did use them during the cold War in the 1968 invasion of Czechoslovakia, and interestingly right now they are painting invasion stripes on vehicles at te Ukrainian border according to reports.

Super nice work. I love the hand painted stripes, just like all the photos from the war I've seen. The Russians were not too concerned with looks when they were fighting for their very existence.

That is looking very good!  I like the look of the hand brushed white stripes and the faint whitewash look.  Tracks are looking good too.
