I agree with you. Most of the fun for me would be having that one specific day to do it. If it turns out I don't do it, then I don't do it. The End. I'll still enjoy reading other peoples' experiences. Find one day that most people can do, but I'd still suggest having all the kits done on the same day.

BTW, if I'm trying to complete this kit in one day, you won't see a lot of posts from me on that day! It'll be a purely after-action report. Mishaps? You betcha -- that's my middle name.

Not me! As Robert was so kind (and quick) to point out, the 'IP' in the middle of my name must stand for "In Progress"!! lol

I can barely juggle my own schedule, let alone my wife's and kids'. I could not even dream of trying to organize 20+ modelers schedules' spanning the globe. The one day idea is ideal, but if an alterate date of August 1 would facilitate a few more members, fine. If everyone can do it on the 1st instead of the 8th, even better. It wouldn't be fair to change the date unless everyone signed up is OK with it.
Let's get some responses...

Any day (except 2d and 4th Saturday of every month) is fine with me.

as long as it is not between the 11th & 16th, i am ok.
i am making my annual trip to Watkins Glen for the Winston Cup race.
(yes, i know there is a different title sponsor. but this is my 17th trip to that track for that event. it will be some time before i am prepared to say the 'new' name)

Exactly! So just set a date and that is that. C'mon dude, it's Tiger Day, not Tiger Days! The whole pernt of this was to have it all go on in one crazy day. They don't have the Fourth of July on two days because some folks will be on vacation. Laugh [(-D]

If you set a day I cannot swing, then that's life, ainnit?

Hmmm, I think I gotta agree with Larry on this one. But I won't drop out if the rule changes.

Before this gets out of hand....
I jump onto this Forum to share some laughs and info with people of similiar interests. I jumped back into modeling to get away from stress. The second either one starts to mimic the pervasive politics and tension of the real world will be the second I step away from one or both.
This was just an idea that came from an earlier post and it should be fun.
I AM building or trying to build a 1/72 Tiger I on August 8, the 60th anniversary of the demise of M. Wittmann.
I hope you join me.

If August 8 is good for me, I will be at my desk building too! If not, I will enjoy reading the stories of all the guys who gave it a shot. Should be quite entertaining! Smile [:)]

Sorry guys, didn't realize that setting it up so everyone could participate was going to upset anyone. I was just hoping to add the 5 or more modelers who couldn't join in the fun on Aug 8th. and trying to get more exposure to some of the inexperienced tank modelers, and show them that modeling can be just as silly and fun, as it can be serious. Obviously it can't be as silly and fun as I would have hoped to show them. Good luck with your builds.

I would love to do this. Although august 8th is so far into the future for me I am not sure if I can do it till I get closer to the date.

Anybody can join whenever they want, I'm not asking for any commitment whatsoever. No registration, I'm just curious about how many are interested. Get a 1/72 Tiger I and jump in if you can. If you can only put in two hours, great, let's see what two hours worth of modeling is for you....
Heath, by all means still build when you can and I'll post it with the group. That goes for anyone.
This is all about fun, that's it!

I ordered a Revell Tiger I H yesterday. The e-invoice says it's an E, but the picture is of the H kit. Here's hoping. Should have it by the end of the week. Then if I can just keep my hands off it for 3 months!! Naaaw, I'll have to order another one later!! lol Maybe the new Dragon or Trumpeter ones will be out by then!

Just to let you know that I am still in. I picked up a 1/72 Revell Tiger 2 Ausf. B and stashed it under my bench. It looks easy enough but I have not used the styrene tracks in bits before. May need a practice run on another before the GB date.

Glad to have the additions and updates...I'll star beating the drum again as the date nears...
As well as compiling some guidelines for the logistics on pics and such. I don't want my emailbox exploding with a hundred simultaneous photos...

Just got my revell germany tiger 1 in 1/72 scale! I'm ready to rock! Looks like a tamiya tiger, just shrunken down, it's that good. I'm still in and I'm ready to go!

It has solid treads, but they have segments. It's almost like indy treads, but their in segments. No vynil, no indys, but sort of like them. I think you might know what I'm talking about. That should make it a little harder for one day's building!
