dave tried the leaning, actually these are the good shots the bad ones were horrible just a blurred mass.

mike moving close and farther away is the only method available. so far the kit is awesome. the fit is good and is realtively smooth for a build.

duke, my wife saw your post and reminded me that she had made that comment several weeks ago. as far as my ineptness, i took about twenty photos and these are the best three. going to try the timer routine next time. thanks.

mike you will enjoy this build. anyone with more abilities than i will have a blast with this kit. the detailing potential is enormous.

rich the urge to build armor and other subjects is there but my heart will always be in a/c.

new mex i actually am thinking of doing both a tiger 1 and sherman. the tracks are the only thing that worry me right now.

dwight, between you chris, robert, eric, mike, and the others i dont think the urge will ever leave. i can see more in the future.

For someone who is inept with cameras, you have taken some excellent photos with one! [:0] Great work on your engine too, it is looking very realistic.

I went to a Wal-Mart and picked up a small tripod that is about 8" high and steadies my camera well. Also, a little trick I learned while shooting: If your digital camera has a timer then set up your shot, turn on the timer, press the trigger, readjust the camera as necessary if the camera moves, then stand back and wait till the timer runs out and the shutter clicks. This will help give some crips shots of your work. I've seen a pretty big increase in the quality of my pics since I started using my tripod and timer.

Looks like you're off to a great start. Careful though...once you go track, you'll never go back.

Does you camera have a wide angle option? Or a macro option? If it doesn't have a macro option use the wide angle option and "zoom" all the way out. Then physicly move tha camera as close as you can until it goes out of focus. And then adjust the distance till its back into focus. This should let you get in a bit closer and not blur your pics.

Anything good or bad to say about this kit?

The engine looks fine. As for the camera, I always try to lean on something solid to steady the shot. Any movement when taking a digital photo will result in a blurred picture.
