Wow we have some brave souls in this build. Mine is slightly less complicated. Good luck with that mirage Grant Larry, it looks like a handful (a handful of fun that is) Smile [:)]

Its not quite 12:00 here yet but wanted to get this start picture out of the way. I promise I won't start for another 30 min. Good luck everyone!!!!!

Just to make it official:

I dunno how much work I'm gonna do tonight though, I'm feeling a little tired. By the way, this is the new Mirage Grant tank. It's a complicated little kit for a 1/72nd. Doh!

Guys, if you want to date your start time in a photo, here's a good way to do it -- this website gives the correct time and date:

Ghettochild. I'm sorry for your loss.

Here is my kit of choice, and I can start it in 20 minutes.

Here is a closer look at what I'm up against with my files and CA glue.

Well, it should be right out of the box.

You could e-mail the pictures to yourself, couldn't you?

But it's not really important that you post pics. What's important is that you enjoy the challenge.

4 hours and 17 minutes until MAD. 5 hours and 17 minutes until I go to bed. I need a good start.

Until then...I'll be working out the kinks with my Coopertiva T-38 amphibious tank kit. I use the word kit loosely. Banged Head [banghead]Banged Head [banghead]Banged Head [banghead]

Get your camera's ready, and lets build some panzer killers.

Just over 12 hours to go! Tongue [:P] Can't wait.

If someone wants to suggest or send me a couple of images I can put a badge together. Don't have much of a library to draw from except my FSM mags. Don't know if they would get upset if I used some of their photo's for this.

Hey there jimfredd, just added ya to the list.

Of course, anyone can be in the build. Your name doesn't have to be on page 1!

Badge, eh? I'll see if I can put something together tonight....

Considering how many garage sales I have gone to and found nothing I wanted, I would surmise it's more of a blind hog and acorn thing, sooner or later everyone gets lucky... usually much, much, much, much later, but that's why you keep lookingTongue [:P]

Only three days left!!!

Check out my warm up project from the past week. Definitely not a good kit for a one day mad build (all those little wheels). Also my first attempt in 15+ years at using my airbrush Big Smile [:D]

hasegawa 251/9 (1/72 of course)

So I'm geared up for this challenge. The best part of the challenge is that my directions
to the kit start at item #10 of 12. There are a lot of little parts that look alike, which surprises me for a old old kit. So I'll sacrifice a camoflage scheme for part fitting time. I'm glad that it is a 1/72 kit.

4 to go. :)

And I'm dying to tell someone what my kit is, but... Taped Shut [XX]

I'm going to try and build all the sub assemblies just after midnight. I will try to paint in the morning and then weather as well as last of details in the evening. Keep in mind that I will have to switch back and forth from the Mad Build, Halo 2, Nascar and my Honey Do This list! Confused [%-)]

Stir not the bitterness in the cup I have mixed for myself!

Part of the fun of these things is proving that you started at midnight or later on The Day, but it certainly isn't required. The honor system is what's really in effect here. Frankly, I wouldn't personally care if people started building now, what's the diff? The point is to build the model.

That said, as this is a Mad Build, it seems to be a bit odd to start early. It's kind of like going down and secretly opening your presents before Christmas, then sealing them up again. You may be the only one who knows you did it, but it's still only you who suffers from it, because the fun of a Mad Build is the doing of it, the accomplishment.

If I remember, I will take a picture of the untouched sprues near the TV with the crawl of the TV station that has the date and time on it. But I didn't remember to do it for Mad Fokker, but that didn't stop me from starting on midnight!
