I believe British Fireflies with their 17-pounders did fairly well against Tiger Is, as far as being able to penetrate .
Anybody know how M-10s fared?

I believe he meant real tanks that were in production.

What about the German PzKpf. VII? It carries the Worfkorper, and it can take out all the enemies it hits, unless your talking about real life and not Gear Krieg.

I believe your question didn't say anything about range.......but flat outright who do we think could beat a Tiger ?
....Well aside from what was already mentioned, truth is M18 and M36 U.S. tank destroyer's also took out a fair amount of Tiger I's.
- U.S. Tank Destoyer Btn's used good battlefield tactic's to their advantage, and it was only a matter of hitting the tiger before it got them. Speed and mobility made up for the thin armor of the U.S. TD's.

If the Tiger were produced in sufficient quantities practically nothing would beat it. The problem with the German Armor Procurement was that they were constantly trying out new models and they never focused their assembly line capabilities on just one tank model. The Twenty Million Shermans were not superior to the Tiger as they could throw four or five at a crack against one Tiger knowing full well that they could sacrifice one or two but they would get the Tiger sooner or later. The tactic would be to blow a tread and shell it to pieces from the rear if possible. A Tiger regiment however was mildly invinceable in areas that the Germans could provide close support like fuel and mechanical help. As the Tiger came on line later in the war it was already too late to gear up to the volume necessary to make a difference. Remember that the Germans were using animal drawn carriages for over half of their units. The motorized units on the front lines were not as big of a factor as the movies make out.

Russian SU-100, JS-1 or JS-2, 30 or 40 Shermans or T-34s, or M-26 Pershing. The complexity and low production rate of the Tiger were its own worst enemies.

Its engine and the fact it was suited for a defensive role. It was so heavy that it was not able to preform the blitzkrieg that Hitler envisioned. Germany's logistics also helped defeat the Tiger, as you cant do much without fuel.

What could take out a Tiger I? Oh, that's an easy one. Answer: a P-47 with two 500-lb bombs! Smile [:)]

Maybe, but don't forget not all battles are fought at optimal range. Wink [;)]

I disagree, Russian T35/85 (85mm gun) and US M26 Pershings (90 mm gun) could take out a Tiger 1 without much problem. Early on, the Tiger was king, once the abve tanks came on line in late '44, the Tiger was knocked off its pedestal.
