Yes it was in Korea. I would guess in '52. He got an early out before the "end" because family hardship, his Dad passed. He served the rest of his hitch at Fort Jackson SC. Well I don't really know what year but YES it is in Korea.

Do you know where this photo was taken?  Was it during Korean Conflict?

I'm lucky enough to be able to ask him but I'd rather not, He would know what i'm up to. If I recall he drove for the same person but he was promoted. So that may explain XO to CO.

Good deal. The last photo is the one i'm going to do seeing how this will be my first "real" dio. I already have a 1/24 scale Jeep I had gotten for another project that didn't turn out well. I've already started on the Jeep, sorta. He told me about that picture that he had stopped at this creek and washed the Jeep. I figure I can do the water with little problem since it's not a swift moving creek.Nice rocky creekbed and not have to worry about sand, grass bushes and such.

Shield looks like it reads "A" at the top point, then "BN" to the left and "CO" to the right.  Bottom looks like some sort of hand-written script.  Can't make out anything on the details of the shield in the middle, tho.  Great idea!  Hope you can work out that shield info.

The jeep is a Willis MB, Tamiya makes a good kit of it in 1/35.

By the bumper #s, it looks like it is 7th ID, 1-31 Infantry Bn.  I can't make out the crest though, sorry.

It looks as though he drove for both the Bn XO, HQ 5, and the Bn CDR, HQ 6.  HQ 6 has the crest and it says BN CO on either side of it too.

Planning on doing a diorama with a jeep as the subject.

Actually this photo is what I want to do

But this setting will be my subject. The guy in his skivvies is my Dad.

He was a driver for a Col (I believe). The question is...

Can any of you experts ID that shield/insigna on the front of the jeep? Also is there ANY way to tell exactly which jeep this is by these pictures?

Looking closer now I see that the first Jeep is not the same as the next 2 pictures.
