DM, you've lived up to your name with this one. Lots of nice detail to draw the eye on both the interior and exterior. Thumbs Up [tup]

One small suggestion I would make is to consider replacing the stowage ropes with something more in-scale and in keeping with what it's securing. The twine you've chosen is more like ship-hawser thickness vs. a normal tie-down rope. Check your local Hobby Lobby or similar craft's store for something called crochet rope, I think you'll find that it's size and texture are a much better medium for replicating what you're looking for.

Thank you Bill,

http://planetsmilies.net/happy-smiley-17099.gif It's the same string/rope I used on Reich Raider. The diameter is .028 which for 1/35 scales out to .98 (almost an inch). I guess that would still be a bit on the large side but, http://planetsmilies.net/confused-smiley-17432.gifwhat the heck, that's all these guys had (ha,ha,).

As for the future, I'll check out that rope you suggested.

http://planetsmilies.net/happy-smiley-541.gif Thanks for your comment as it is appreciated.

Forgot to add-- as my dad was passing by, he couldn't stop oggling at the worn varnished finish on the benches.  Took me a solid five minutes to get him to beleive they weren't photographs of the real vehicle.

My theory is that this is just "a moment in time" and does not represent any particular vehicle. The image “http://img389.imageshack.us/img389/1535/2centsfinalci9.gif” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors. Lack of a picture (within reason) doesn't mean it couldn't happen.

Besides, with all the variables in daily living, The image “http://stat.livejournal.com/img/mood/ibrad/rollingeyes.gif” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors. (not to mention the unexpected surprises of a war zone) I don't think it would be too unreasonable to see something like this late in the war.

One of the "Fun" things about armor to me is the "artistic" aspect. If a hobby isn't fun, well, The image “http://www.cheesebuerger.de/images/midi/boese/d062.gif” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors. it might as well be just another job.

I guess one reason The image “http://www.wizdforums.co.uk/images/smilies/shrug.gif” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors. (among  others) that I don’t post builds often is the objectivity thing. I put it aside (current project) for a short while at different stages to refresh my perspective, giving me a better picture of how well (or not so well) I’ve progressed. The image “http://www.day.az/forum/style_emoticons/default/thinking.gif” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors. I can stay focused in this manner. If I don’t, I just tend to wander around…try this, try that, wander, wander and finally get totally frustrated. I guess this is what is commonly known as patience. You know the old saying, “Patience has its rewards”.
The image “http://img236.exs.cx/img236/9268/scratchchin6hy.gif” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors. Building quickly might cost you accuracy or the perfection you desire but we’re all wired differently, so, what works for one may not work for others.

Hope you like my The image “http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v717/muselady/azeb.gif” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors. new adventurous look, however, I might go back to my The image “http://img463.imageshack.us/img463/6357/huh4lc.gif” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors. boring old self. Just look for the “brandname” to avoid confusion.

I “will” surely keep up the “troll watch”.

I decided not to use the thread as it kept breaking and used some VERY fine steel wire.

and here are the chains from hobby lobby……..

This was just the perfect size..

But here are the The image “http://img301.imageshack.us/img301/2403/idea3el.gif” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors. measurements for sure….

And the specs for each wheel…

Remember that if each link is not exactly the same dimension The image “http://img185.imageshack.us/img185/9279/mdakp6.gif” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors. there could be an accumulated difference possibly requiring an additional link.

Get a piece of DENSE Styrofoam and proceed like this….

Should come out like this The image “http://img200.exs.cx/img200/7135/eyebrow1qb.gif” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors. with some patience….

How ‘ya hangin’ The image “http://img117.exs.cx/img117/9585/q9crolleyes.gif” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors..............

Should look like this.

Use cheap rattlecan paint in accumulated mists followed by alcohol/pastel washes.

Digger, I’m sorry I was late but I do appreciate your evaluation & uplifting comments.

Thanks,

just looked the pictures, and if this model (is it one?) isn't in FSM then nothing is good enough to grace the pages of that fine magazine. Better yet it should be on the cover to further put the rest of us in envy!

Well, it appears that

http://www.jimnolt.com/colorlogo.JPG

Hey squeakie,

Yes, this is the only one I built. Believe it or not, I took this to a local contest in May and it barely got a look, much less any kind of an award. One of my friends was in earshot and heard some comments by the judges, "That finish looks bad" and "It just don't look real inside, must be a newbie". Yep, IPMS contest.

http://th74.photobucket.com/albums/i280/Phrozhen_Khold/Smileys/th_atyourservice.gif You might win big at one, but the next one may be a real http://th164.photobucket.com/albums/u10/stuff4mail/smileys%20dutch/th_loser.gif loser. Perception is reality, and like a$$holes and opinions, everyone has a different one....different sizes, different colors http://th2.photobucket.com/albums/y41/blackwelsh13/Smileys/th_0e2e9721.gif(different smells, ewww). It's that Forrest Gump deal, http://th241.photobucket.com/albums/ff7/mabear74/smileys/th_chocolate.gifbox of chocolates, 'ya know.

It don't bother me though, I'm confident in my abilities; just thought I'd mention it in case someone else got bumped and might let it get the best of them. Drive over it and press on.

http://th528.photobucket.com/albums/dd329/tranquilmoments2/SMILEYS/th_626.gif BTW, it should be featured in the next IPMS modelers member magazine gallery (what a mouthful) coming out soon.

http://th60.photobucket.com/albums/h5/shellbell1471/Smileys%2005-11-07/th_thanks.gif Your comments and appraisal are very much appreciated. Each response on this thread has contributed greatly to my quest to build http://th340.photobucket.com/albums/o339/sevenzuil/Emoticons/th_emoticons-1248.gif ......maybe not the very finest, but maybe a most intriguing subject with interesting details.

The image “http://th20.photobucket.com/albums/b244/Spiritis/Emoticons/th_Unexpected.gif” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors. One thing for sure, my typing sure is getting better......
