Such a nice piece of work I want to build one myself!

It's a shame so much gets hidden away in an armor build.

Wonderful chains. That's some real effort.

WOW, love the chains.  Are you going to add the latches that hook back onto the links like the real thing? Whistling [:-^]  Your build of them is bringing back nightmare of the real thing.  I am a truck driver and have had to deal with the dang things. Just once mind you then I realized it was just better to stay in the truck stop then put them on and take them off just to go up a mountain.  Wonders why I don't go west in the winter.

But sweet tut on the build up and keep up the great work.

...Yes, this is the only one I built. Believe it or not, I took this to a local contest in May and it barely got a look, much less any kind of an award. One of my friends was in earshot and heard some comments by the judges, "That finish looks bad" and "It just don't look real inside, must be a newbie". Yep, IPMS contest.

Moose,

http://th70.photobucket.com/albums/i108/stilldaffy2/Smileys/th_oldcoot.gifLong ago I drove a semi and was familiar with tire chains and their kinks (heh he).

Theeese chains were based on civilian specs since library references and a websearch couldn't provide me with any clear pictures of military applications.

Military/civilian.....I couldn't see the point in adding features that I couldn't substantiate since I could only find civilian references. I finally based my assumptions on the detail provided with the Verlinden resin set. Heck, if they can sell theirs I figured since mine actually work they'd be good enough.

I guess you misunderstood me. It won't be in Finescale. It'll be in the members only magazine for IPMS members. It's called the IPMS modelers Journal. My stuff's been in there off and on all this past year.

Ive said it before and i will say it again, AWSOME BUILDBow [bow]

I know what u mean on contests, ive got gold twice for my Ardennes Sherman at two conseccutive shows (good job they didnt spot seam on turret or mg not drilled out) then i took it to my own clubs show and the judge on 35 armour got a bit peaved on my results in the previous shows as he went home empty handed and so he made up some lame excuse that one of the bogys was not in line with the others and gave it nothing. It was fine that he didnt place it but he should not have tried to justify his actions especially when his excuse was a bogus one. The man isnt even that good a modeller so should not even be judging. So it goes to show it all depends  on who  likes what and more importantly who.Its wiered because in our club the only people that dont want to really speak to me are the armour lot ,i dont think they like competition, they have got decidedly worse  in atitude as ive got better in finnishing my models.  One word describes our club ,VERY CLICKEY.

Don't worry Bodge, sounds like they're jealous and they feel incompetent. The image “http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a144/parisienne-moonlight/emoticon/asdcattivo.gif” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors. Ya gotta home here.....
