Been out of the loop for a bit. Good to get back in here and seeing good stuff like this being built. Hope you bought a new sheet of bare metal foil. You're probably gonna use dang near all of it on this build.

Nice so far.  Saw a 1:1 on the back of a semi trailer last night headed south.  Someone got a nice red project.

Looking good Nick.  Gotta love those skinny bias ply tires too. Smile

Just keep picking away at it...

Wow Nick, that really takes me back to my '60. That engine is great with the trip 2's. The only difference is that mine had a lot more dirt and oil on it.Wink

Keep up the great work.

Nothing like an early '50's with extended rear fenders and a Connie kit. For the '59, it might be hard to wrap the fins around the spare, but there were a lot of bizarre and beautiful customs in the "little pages" and Car Craft.

Looking forward to your build!

Sorry to hear that you don't like the "Connie" kits. I bought a '60 Chevy convertible in '64 with the long cruiser skirts and the full width Connie kit. The only thing I didn't like about the kit was the locking latch. Could never get the tire to stop vibrating and banging against the stop. Other than that, I thought that it was the most beautiful car I had ever seen and owned.

Plus, with the spare outside the trunk, two guys could get in the trunk when we went to the Drive In.Cool

Hi;

 Please , Please ! Don't put that dorky Continental Kit on this beautiful car .To me it doesn't belong on such a swoopy designed body . T.B.
