Yes!!!!!!  Finally, as much as I like many of the previous suggestions, my dream is injection molded good quality 1/72

Boeing 307 Stratoliner -- absolutely beautiful lines, classic!

Boeing 314 Clipper flying boats -- maginficent queen of the skies!

DC-7

It sure does seem like a slam dunk for manufacturers to do GA aircraft models, but who knows how those great minds work??

The Statoliner and the Clipper both were trailblazers in civil aviation (although the 314 Clipper could also be called a kind of swansong of the big flying boats) and quite beautiful aircraft. I would definitely vote for good quality 1:72 scale injection-moulded kits of these two aircraft.

There were also two - admittedly not quite so beautful - but historically (for their own national carriers, respectively Imperial Airways and KLM) quite important airliners from Europe in the thirties: the Handley Page HP 42 Heracles (in Great Britain) and the Fokker F XVIII trimotor (in the Netherlands). My dream als a modeller is to build those two aircraft as 1:72 scale injection-moulded kits.
There is only an old vacform by Contrail of the Handley Page and no kit whatsoever of the Fokker. If only Airfix were willing to enlarge their old 1:144 scale HP 42.........

I'd like to see a good 1/144 MD-11 that doesn't cost $200.

A 1/48 scale Lancastrian would be nice, as would a 1/48 scale Connie (QANTAS markings), and a large scale DH 89/90 (London to Sydney in 9 1/2 days was BOAC's boast)

TWA is the only way to go with a Connie, though one in 1/48 would be cool.

I'd buy a 1/48 Connie in any markings!  Now if they would only make that and a 1/48 Boeing 307 as well and I'd be all set!

Guys,

If you are serious about what new kits you'd like to see keep an eye out for the May issue of FSM. We're conducting a "Most wanted kit" survey starting with that issue. Instructions for how do vote will be published there.

Cheers, Aaron

This thread has reminded me that I have been meaning to ask, are there any kits currently available for the Stinson Reliant?  I have a photo of a Reliant in American Airlines marking that would make a very neat kit.  I assume I might be able to hash up decals from another AA subject, or else do inkjet ones.

I'd like to see some 1/48 corporate planes. A Falcon 20 and King Air 200 would probably sell well, since they both have military applications, too.

We also need a good F2H-2 Banshee, F9F Cougar, and F11F Tiger in 1/48.

In 1/144, I'm amazed that nobody has released a B-52D. That's the perfect scale for the Buff.

I forget the brand, but J-Bar hobbies carries it,  that has a line of business twins. I do not remember for sure about the King Air, but they seem to have about every Piper and Cessna twin.

The Testors Lear Jet is not a bad kit.

I'd sure like to get:

1/144 C-119 Boxcar in any variant,

injection-molded 1/144 C-46 (those resin kits are too expensive for such a small kit),

1/144 747 Dream Lifter

1/144 A-26

All in injection mold, no vac or resin.

Ditto on the Banshee and Cougar. Hopefully Hobby Boss will come out with them since their release of the beautiful Demon kit.  I'd like to see a Super Connie in 1/48 scale too with super detailed engines, gear  and  interior.

I would LOVE to see a 1/48th Super Connie series.  ie Airliner / MATS transport, EC-121 variants (with and without radomes), optional position Fowler Flaps, optional position engine cowlings, detailed R-3350 Turbo-compound engines, optional position cargo doors and crew / passenger entry hatches, and, as much interior detail as would be visible through windows and opened doors / hatches.

I'd also like a 1/48th P-2 Neptune series from P-2V1 through P-2V7 including the OP-2H and the AP-2H with the same type of detail described for the Connie series.

While I'm getting crazy here, lets include a 1/48th P-3 Orion series with all its variants and the same level of detail as the other two.

I don't want too much, do I?

All the best

Ray

Manstein's revenge

A new-tool Ho229 in 32nd scale with all the fiddly-bits in resin and PE...

1/32... resin + PE... I hate to think how much it would cost! Whistling

I'm walking in late here so this may have already been covered - I'd love to see a Red Bull air racer series in 1/48. They're small & colourful (and weaponless), would make a good starting point for new modelers, interesting enough that the military gang could still find something to do with them. And on the manufacturer's side, there would be multiple versions off of the same toolings, some have different wingtips etc.

On the bench: Airfix 1/72 Wildcat; Airfix 1/72 Vampire T11; Airfix 1/72 Fouga Magister

Well, being the warped and perverted curmudgeon that I am, I wouldn't mind seeing some of the more obscure early Soviet airliners, such as the Kharkov KhAI 3, which while it didn't go into production, was a rather neat and pretty tail less delta with seats for 12 passengers, and a 100 hp M11 up front.

I would like a 1/32 Cessna C208 Caravan. Preferably an A model. I flew that plane for a year in the late 90's. Fantastic airplane.

I was with Mid-Atlantic Freight. I was hauling Airborne Express freight, mostly. I always say if I had a lot of money and was in no hurry, I'd get a 208!
