 Now you get an idea of what I like in ships .1/400 isn't my favorite , but their kits are very straight-forward if you pay attention ! Polish , No Way ! German  ,yeah , mostly , My German is what a friend calls Germanisch Technisch !

 I can read it to myself and understand exactly what it means ! Try and tell someone what a word is , No Way ! That's why Whilemshaven ships and planes , plus Schreiber's stuff , never puzzled me .

 I do know this . I have No Idea where I picked it up either ! If I run into something I will call upon your offer . and Thank You in advance !  T.B.

Yep again clear instructions would have prevented the serious mistake I made!I am not sure that I can remove and correctly 're- position the canopy without destroying it.

Philo, building paper models is a great excercise and it can potentially get your model building skills way up. The trick to it is to imagine how the parts go together basing on drawings, photos and so on. Then you cut them out and shape (bend) them - hold your glue! Try to dry fit your parts until you are positive what goes where, all the lines and colours line up and so on. This is pretty important so repeat it two or three times. Just when you are positive about the fit of the part - just then it's time to glue the part.

Did you try looking up some WIPs? That could help you a lot, IMO.

Philo, I don't have one - I'm just reading the instructions and I'm also using my experience building those paper models. But try looking more at the drawings, or look up the net - the pictures are there!

Philo, I regret having to tell you, that you didn't fit the part 1 right. It should point downwards, and it's rear edge should be aligned with the front edge of part 2. And those edges should be glued along the bulkhead, too. Those babies are usually built this way that part 1 is glued on bulkhead W1, part 2 is glued to the bulkheads W2 in front and W2a on the rear, part 3 to the bulkheads W3 and W3a and so on. You usually build segments first, and then when they are done you join the segments together. I hope it helps you - good luck with your build and have a nice day

Please note it's "Modelarz" - a modelmaker in Polish. Those German kits have better instructions for sure if you speak German. As for English - it's worth chcecking out before you buy. For translations either from Polish or from German - I'd be happy to help. Have a nice day

Nope  this will probably be my last Modelktz paper model for the foreseeable future.I will try one of the German makers,such as Reimars.Hopefully they have decent instructionsl

Philo - So are you doing the cabin interior or not?

Don - your idea is sound, it was standard practice in Maly Modelarz models, that had an option of equiped cabin (those were appearing from the end of the eighties) to cut out the windows and underlay a part made of stiff foil. Most of the cabins are better served with a vacuum-formed part, and a company called Gomix sells such transparent parts for most paper models that have an equipped cabin. Like here's one for the Focke-Wulf Philo is building. Would cost you whopping 3$.

Maybe I should stick to something like thus LOL!.    

After much thought,careful study of the parts sheets and much internal debate I think I have found a way forward.The only way I can see to build the center fuselage pod is to attach the canopy sections to the bulkheads.Goes against my modeling instincts but I can see no other way to do it.Not sure it will work but we shall see!

Thanks for the info!Even for expierenced builders,the lack of assembly drawings is perplexing.You have to guess what the designer was thinking when he produced this kit.Still,it really brings you out of your modeling comfort zone!

as I have the same model, too, I'll try to help you. You're right, the drawings arent best in case of this one, but the text makes up for it - which is of little use for you when you don't speak Polish. Anyhow, on page 6 there is "opis budowy" - building instructions. There it says taht the fuselage (kadlub) is made up of the parts 1,2,3,4,5 and 6. It also says there that you should decide up front if you want to build the cabin interior. Also worth mentioning is the part that you should hold the corresponding bulkheads together and sand them together to make sure they are exactly the same shape before installing them. Note that every bulkhead has a little line mark on top and on the bottom - you should always align the bulkheads by those marks. The place where the fuselage segment is glued together - the seam - usually aligns with one of the marks on the bulkhead. Otherwise there is a similar mark on the fuselage segment.

Struggling a bit ,as the instructions are minimal at best.I will have to try to figure out which parts comprise the main fuselage pod.Not obvious and I might have to make copies of the parts sheets to try to piece it together.

Yes that might be an area worth exploring.

Just wondering.  For those aircraft with huge greenhouses, could you use a scanner to copy the greenhouse areas onto those viewgraph foil sheets?  These are blank transparent plastic sheets coated to allow printing in an inkjet printer.  I know the mechanical properties of those foils is different than paper, and though it might take more effort, it might be a solution.  Of course, then you'd have to make some scratchbuilt interior details also.

Well this one has a rather complex expanse of plexiglass.Unless someone makes a 1/32 Canopy set for this aircraft.

 Did you know you can make the interiors and clear areas on the canopies too ? I tried it with a P-40 some years back , For a friend . He got the resin interior from one of the aftermarket companies and I showed him how to do the canopy .

 Blister Pack ! You cut it to shape . Get it soft in boiling water and form it .Then glue the paper frames over it and cut the edges to fit

 You know I have a problem with photos though . For the rails and ladders , Mast and Life boat Davits .
