hOYHOY`AL,

Just for Mossie, it`s now got toes.

Let it never besaid that I don`t give the customer what he wants and just to be on the safe side it`s got toe paint too (well all machines are refered to as she arn`t they  Grin)

But back to reality (or whatifery), this is the final pose and tommorrow I get to paint!.

As you can see I`ve added a bit of plate armour, fixed to look like a field mod` and as a chance to add a bit more battle damage.

A pic with Fred the  Fitter for scale (1:48)

And in this pic why do those three holes always remind me of the bear in the Muppets?.Perhaps it`s the `mouth` as well.
Edit.. checking this it now looks like Yoda from SW`s  Angry

Oh well tommorrow I go digital. All comms and crits etc etc,

Cheers  Drink

Well,  Hydraulic lines for one. The closeup of the foot is "plain", some hydraulic lines might help. The "cannon" in the left hand, perhaps used more like a "cane"? If my hip had been bashed like that one , I'd definitely be using a cane, or crutch. I do like the method you used for the fingers. Are they going to remain "mechanical looking"? Maybe some short pieces of small styrene rod for knuckles?

Oh, I decided to digital camo, the "ship", the first stage masking is done, waiting paint.

Hi There Sumpter,

Your NEVER to new at any game to offer a suggestion. People who arn`t as knowledgeable about a subject often come up with the best ideas as they arn`t as tied down with the dogma that the so called experts consider as set in stone. Some of my best ideas have come from people who were just passing through.Whistling [:-^].

As I always try to remember to type that ALL COMMENTS are welcome, even the medically impossible. (tho` some are fun tryingBig Smile [:D]

Feedback on a model are why I post em. It`s amazing sometimes how peoples conceptions and reactions differ from mine.

So Comment away all freely and say what you think. I`m quite thick. (skinned that is)

Cheers Gary

I kind of like the thought that the "uber super cannon" might have been what caused the "injury", and was wrenched off, and used to batter the attacker into submission. I also like the idea that this has "evolved" as you build it, as "it experiences the fortunes of war". I think I'm a little too new to this game to be offering suggestions, other than, let the "story" tell itself, and guide the details.

Hoyhoy`al

Anywat on with the show. As I said in the last blurb I dropped it. Nothing serious just a leg fell of, but all in one piece, easily fixed. Trouble is I was a bit bored with this build, it was going together OK but it didn`t really feel like I was being pushed in any way. It just might have been any TV cartoon robot outta the box with no effort required. Sooooooooooo as I had a leg in one hand and the rest in the other I decided to change things a bit. Would it be possible to show a wounded walking robot? I put the leg back on with a sorta twist innit and a pronounced limp. (L.I.M.P pronounced limp) Battle damaged the shoulder armour a bit with a ricochet scar on the hood, invented some sort of uber super cannon from a bit that woke this morning being perfectly happy as a MK103 and here it is so far. The hands are just bluetac`d on and the arms are gonna have to be reworked to match this new pose but I think I`m gonna like this a lot better with this new twist. Anyway here's where it is.

I know people are looking at this so hows about some feedback and let me know what you think, any suggestions on how to improve it?
Cheers  Drink

LOOK MA  NO HANDS!

Well the feet are on and it actually stands alone without a prop. While searching for something else I found a box of control rods etc for radio control and decided to use these for the arms that I had always intended to add but was unsure how to fabricate. Hands should be an  interesting build job. Last pic is a better shot of the controls that fold away in the cockpit.
Still lots to build especially as I just dropped it and have to rebuild some. Enjoy.
All comments etc etc,
Cheers  Drink

Seen to many mechs with that, thinking this ones more a scout type.

Hoyhoy`al,

been working on the cockpit,

Last pic shows what you see when its done. Suddenly found out that I can`t paint round corners, hence the vid` screen's need a lot of tidying up. Didn`t want to do a lot of wiring and CBA`d to make a consol for the front, so I cheated and put the back of the dash behind a closed water/weather proof cover like on a Me109. this also needs working as it is too hard looking and looks like a scale model of a railway layout before flocking. But o`all reasonably amused but the results so far.

This picture I know is very blurry but I hope it conveys my idea of steering being on a rod which folds out of the way when getting in and out of the pit.

Oh well all comments and suggestions etc

Heres where I`s at now,
Shoulder pads on, inner hubcaps to inner knees, mudflaps to back of knees (1st kitparts), Extra strengthening bitz to upper legs, a chin gun of sorts (lego part), and small thruster jump jets to lower body (2nd Kit parts)

Under the chin gun, the box will be a infra red light ( or silver, Tamiya clear red and Future in laymans terms)
Heres the push moulds for the feet, work needed to get temprature right.

And this is just for you Mossie

I wasn`t going to show this open until it was finished, but obviously I can`t hide much from you lot of eagle eyed buggers Grin

Kit parts used so far are:-

two seat backs from Dragon 1:48 Me262 kits - armour back of knee.

Two wing guns  that are I think from Heller 1:72 Ar 196 - belly jump jets.

All comments and suggestions read, sometimes with amusement and sometimes even taken heed of.

I have seen lots of things done digital...it all looks good to me! and you can go nuts with color too...

it doesnt have the SW feel too it, more MaK feel.

How did you make the knees? What are they made of? I will stat my own walker from scratch as well.....

Hoyhoy `al

Thought I`d do another SciFi JB to start of the year.

When I was writing the gibberish at the tail end of Hog 2, the words "exoskeleton fighting frame" appeared on the screen, where from I`ve no idea, but the idea stuck in my head for a few days. Then while searching for something else I found this.

And it clicked. A fighting machine with digital camo`. Another old inhaler body (becoming my signature item maybe?), a rumage in the tube stock for bitz and I`m off.  I`m thinking Vietnam US marine colours, complete with graffiti (love the idea of chalking `make love not war, ancient proverb` on the side of an SciFi AFV), probably a little jungle dio and a figure or two.

So Heres the Bitz

The legs part way from Evergreen and stuff.

And heres were I`s at.

Legs on but wobbily. On the left is the shoulder pad/pod armour awaiting a final sand and polish for push moulding, and on the right 1st impressions of the feet. With Fred the Fitter for scale (1:48)

Can`t decide wether it`s ED209 or something StarWarsy influenced yet, but the hands are on autopilot so something should come out at the end.

Oh well onwards and outwards, more as it happens.

All comments, even the medically impossible read.
