Wrong Starbuck.  The MK 1 viper is actually the Viper from the classic Battlestar Galactica from 1978.  Starbuck was played by Dirk Benedict in that series.  Watch it sometime.  It's a lot more interesting than the new remade one.

Starbuck's boobs were bigger in the show! Oops

In the Hangar: 1/48 Hobby Boss F/A-18D RAAF Hornet,

On the Tarmac:  F4U-1D RNZAF Corsair 1/48 Scale.

But if this had been the new series I wouldn't have needed that much padding for the female Starbuck.Wink

Yeah - I know. I used to watch the original series when I was a kid. I loved it.

I did, however, love the re-imaging too! (And the new Starbuck was way hotter!) I think there was an old MK 1 Viper in the new series too.

The new Starbuck is cute, But she can't hold a candle to the old Athena played by Maren Jensen. lol...  I saw original cylons, original raiders, and an old original style Base Star in the new show, but the oldest Viper I saw was the Mk. II.  I didn't like the new show very much.  They really tore the concept to pieces and messed with the characters too much.  They seemed t play on the negative side of every aspect of the concept.  The characters were so messed up, that there wasn't one character that seemed like they had anything positive about them.   Too many of these re-imagined shows try to make the show edgy, and completely lose the point of their original ancestors.  The first show was pure space opera, a bit campy, but hey, it was 1978 after all.  The point is that the characters in the original series were characters you could actually care about, and did.  There wasn't a dry eye in the room at my house when Serena died.  The Galactica looked ten times better than the new one.  In the old series, she was a proud state of the art ship, and not some antiquated  pile of scrap with 90% of her armor plate stripped off and a hull that was barely holding together.  Well you get the idea.  I have one of all three of the Vipers that are currently out, a couple of old series Raiders, and one Base Star.  I'm going to have a ball lighting that Base Ship when I get around to building it. lol

I saw one of the Viper models in the LHS yesterday. I've seen them before but I have to admit I'm getting more and more interested in building one.

I have to build the rest of my small stash (including a Dodge Viper) first though. By then I should know if I'm going to stick with the hobby or not.

Those are awesome. The original vipers and raiders are so much cooler than the repops.
