It doesn't matter in the least who takes up the charge. There isn't that much really to do, except recieve photos towards the end. I think the group as a whole can get it sorted out.

I have ftp space if we don't want to use photobucket or the like.

Thumbs Up [tup] You'll do fine Jon.Wink [;)] Be sides I hardly would think MM would expect everyone to stop. I was going to jump on board with this build, sounds cool as time allows.

Hmm, How about if someone else assisted me in leading this? My schedule is somewhat strange, and my job could require me to up and leave at a moment's notice. Anyone that wishes to assist me in heading this thing up, please leave a post and we'll figure it out through a vote of the participants on who should lead this thing. I, of course, am subject to being voted in as well. So, here's my post saying I'm interested in either leading or assisting this build.

I think we should try to stick as close to MM's guidelines as reasonably possible. Also, if MM comes back in some sort of "reincarnation" I would be happy to step down and let him take over again.

How does eveyone else feel about this?

Clumsy, do want to head up this build? There will probably only be a handful of people jumping in, but I think it will be fun to just cut loose and build something silly.

I too thought it was odd in the way that he left. I didn't see the other post before he deleted it.

Yeah, I read the other thread after posting in here. No matter what the reason he left, I hope all is well and that things work out for his family. If there's anything else that contributed to his leaving, that's none of my business.

Hopefully he shows before the GB starts, the wife and I were still looking for materials tonight for this build... Big Smile [:D]

Huh, Why would someone be deleted, or need to be deleted just because of family reasons? Very strange if you ask me?.. If it is for family reasons, then you just say "hey guys, taking abreak for family reasons".. Must be more to it than that?

Anyways, probably none of my business...

The GB has a pretty good margin of time until the due date. Hopefully he wil be back by then.

I would just continue plans for it as normal.

Okay, thanks, MM. I`ll have to ask my friend Jason Eaton to see if he knows where I can get a Gladiator, or something like it for the HAFS part.

Hmmm, that would fall under AFS not HAFS which I had in mind.

Ok, go for it. Any chance of adding a HAFS too??

You are most likely aware of this site, but here it is for the other guys:

Well, Its got the body of the gustav with the safs arms and laser and some mercenary forces mods, and thehatches are changed to armor instead of being a clear canopy and ill put it on an vignette with a little bit of action to go with.Big Smile [:D]

Of course you can have glass panes for your cockpit. Wink [;)]
I just want the cockpit and interior to be visible, not totally enclosed like with so many mecha kits.

I dunno, I may still be willing to play in this one, but I'm going to have to get out the old pencil and pad and draw to get some inspiration for it. I just can't get around the "open cockpit" rule. I mean, we don't have our tank commanders go into battle in a tank with reactive armor by sticking their fleshy bits where the enemy's small arms fire can kill them, why would someone in a battlearmor go out with their fleshy bits flaying in the wind?

If we can change the rules to state an open OR armored cockpit, but it requires interior detailing, then I'd be game. Thoughts?

Did somebody say sf3d??? Thats me! But, I`m not very good at total scratch build, I`m more kitbash.
I kinda liked the idea of the armored fighting suit type GB MM and I were throwing around but the restrictions were too much for some and it sorta fizzeled out.
Im nearly finished with my Gans! I have to tone down the camoflage and weather it, hopefully I`ll have some pics soon.
I do have parts fron a krote that i was building for a space type gans.

And I do have that skinhead2 I wanted to start on, but I was saving it for a GB, the skinhead would be on two legs with a pilot and with weapons, about 3 meters tall, made from a Gustav and a SAFS mit panzerfaust fully armored. but I dont know if that qualifies in y`alls guidelines?

Kinda difficult can be along the lines of SF3D or something like the following:

I kinda like the mechanical hardcore look, like something was build to fulfill a purpose and not for looks.

FYI, the above pics were posted by a forum member.

I think I'll be in, but I would need some pics to get an idea about that "retro look".

Any scale is fine I guess.

BTW, what ClumsyModeler wanted to do is not a Walker but a big human controlled robot.

Sorry, I'm out if these guidelines apply.

Naturally, your choice. Till the end of June (Ground Assault GB) I am stuck with doing solely kits and existing designs(maybe as much as 2~4 kits a month).

I will need a break on something different than and thought it might make a fun GB for the guys here. Yep, it will be a challenge.

My current design idea is something along a 6-legged walker, with pilots sitting in front in Cobra/Apache style configuration, missille launcher & gun turret behind the cockpit, gun under the cockpit and also rear-firing gun.

Similar to a resin kit I build a few years ago.

Dimensions: cannot be taller than lets say 4 or 5 metres in real life.
Weaponry: anything goes
Can be done with either 2/6/8 legs
Should look retro and hardcore(ie no sleek designs, lots of hardware, rivets, etc visible)

How about it??

Sorry, I'm out if these guidelines apply.

Agreed, would be fun to see the strange designs that people can come up with.
