That sounds cool. I don't know what you have in mind but I imagine it with grafitti all over it.
So, should we count you in?

Personally,I've always wanted to do a Leman Russ that had been captured and modified by Space Orks.

Great Drawde. Don't forget the photos. Is it the regular Land raider or the crusader?
Armour_freek (Dave) and sevrius (Will), you're welcome. That Bradley sounds interesting.

I've finished my current 40K models - Tau battlesuit, Landspeeder, and Eldar Guardians
- so I'll post some pics of them here when I get the time to take some photos.

Once I've finished some of my other non-40K modelling projects, I'll hopefully start work on the Land Raider
for the GB.

I'm having a couple days off (thanks easter) and so I'm splitting my time between a Tornado and the Immolator.
Yesterday I finished removing mold lines from the Immolator and did the same to the Chaos S.M. It was a major task as there are so many little pieces with few, if any, straight lines. I also changed a bit some of the heads, put to good use my set of mini drills and undercoated everything with tamiya light sea gray. I'm still deciding how to paint everything.
How is everybody else doing?

Right now I don't wan't to increase my stash anymore (actually I want but I'm fighting myself not to do it) so the Falcon Grav Tank will reamain in my wishlist only. It's good to know it's sharp. Maybe later this year, maybe for my bday. I wonder how it'd look in a russian knight type of paintjob.
Anyway, keep us informed of your progress.

Detail is what you'd expect from a GW model kit: its all there, a little heavy (perhaps "robust" is a better term), but it sure does look cool! Comes with 2 crew and I believe the rear troop hatch will be openable. Not a lot in the way of options, though I suppose that's what GW's mail order is for!

I've bult the Leman Russ and the old-school Rhino, and compared to those, this kit is pretty sharp!

FYI I'm doing mine up in Saim-hann colors...

Damon.

Yes, you're welcome to join the Gb and post photos of your work in progress (WIP) and finished. Your photos can be hosted wherever and you can put links to them in your messages. I use http://www.imageshack.us/ for hosting my phoots. It's free Big Smile [:D]
BTW: How is that Grav-tank model? the box art seems cool, but I was wondering about what's inside the box.
So, I'll add you up with an Eldar Grav tank.

A Group Build is basicly a bunch of people building a common theme in a set time period , its motivational for me and also quite addictive. It gives people a chance to share ideas and ask advice.

I'm rather new to the board, so can someone explain exactly, what the rules for a group-build is? I have an idea, but its better to make sure...

Otherwise, I'd definitely be interested! I'd like to do an Eldar Falcon grav-tank, please?

Thanks mate.
I began basic clean-up of the pieces and decided the fleurs-de-lys had to go. A fleur de lys means France to me, not Chaos.
The Chaos space marines look really nice. They include a sprue of mutated head and arms wich is cool but I'm not shure if I will use it.
Here is a photo of the contents of the box:

One backpack is missing from the photo as I Dunce [D)] missplaced it in the immolator box. There's more than enough to build 8 figures.

Browsing in amazon I found this link: http://www.scifigenre.com/ I haven't used their service, but they offer many W40K stuff (and MUCH more) with 15% off.

For anyone who want to know what comes in the immolator box here is a photo:
http://img22.exs.cx/img22/9315/s36000095bw.jpg
So, I went to the local warhammer shop to pick some infantry to go with the immolator.
The inquisition may get for this: I bought the Chaos Space Marines. They seemed the coolest of the ones in stock (including sisters of battle). So, I'm doing a Chaos controled Immolator. You can call it a captured/looted immolator. I'm sorry if it's to much "heresy" for hardcore Warhammer 40K fans.

Anyone has an objection?

Sounds like there's a lot to do in that model/conversion. So welcome aboard, pirate Wink [;)]
You too Drawde, I'll include you with the Land Raider, but figures are ok if you change your mind.
This is turning out better than I expected Big Smile [:D]

Last night I cut the pieces from the sprues(no cleaning yet), those were huge joint points, and dry -fitted some pieces. I think it'll be cool to copy Wolfp's idea and add some troops dismounting. I may even open one of the side doors.
Oh, and thanks for boosting my morale Larry!

I've been kicking around a few ideas of my own, something along the lines of SMs dismounting from a Rhino going into the assault or somesuch. Guess Im going to need more SMs. I also really, really want to drop the bucksheesh on a baneblade from ForgeWorld, but think the wife would have my heiney if I did such a thing.

I'd like to join this, but I'm a fairly slow modeller and really don't like rushing my models.. it'd take me at least a week to do something like a tank, Dreadnought, Landspeeder etc. properly!

Could I do a small vehicle like a bike or jetbike, or even a figure such as a Terminator or Eldar Aspect
Warrior? I'd probably be able to finish that in a couple of days.

That Ravager conversion looks really interesting BTW!

EDIT: Sorry, didn't see that the GB lasted from here until August! That's more than long enough even for me :)

I'm working on a Space Marines (Black Templars) Landspeeder hover vehicle at the minute, about two-thirds done. Once that's done my next project will probably be a Dark Angels Land Raider tank. This is the one I'll use for the GB, though
I will post some pictures of the Landspeeder and my other recent 40K projects (Deathwing Terminator, Eldar Guardians, Tau Battlesuit) once they're done.

I might even have finished my scratchbuilt Baneblade super-heavy tank by August (it's about 75% done already, only needs small details, tracks, and painting)

The important part is that you derive satisfaction from making a bunch of pieces into a model vehicle (or whatever). All other considerations are secondary. Enjoy, don't worry! Smile [:)]

My model for the build is kinda complicated to explain , but here goes.
Deep breath..... Welll I wanna do a Dark Eldar Ravager made out of a Ravager (surprise surprise) and a viper with a couple of Viper gun decks and some remodelling of the tail area of the Ravager. Models involved are an Existing Ravager Ive already built an unbuilt Viper and a spare viper gundeck. The Ravager will be cut up and remodelled using the viper bits to produce something like this

but with extra armour and guns. The above model is still WIP btw and together with my proposed Ravager will be part of a DE pirate army Im planning.
Now to the nitty gritty is this allowed? Im asking because a sizable part of this project ie the ravager bit has been built but will need to be cut up.

Syko, mail me one of your extras and I will build in and send it to you Wink [;)]

I love their models, but they are so expensive.

Im already in a GW GB so theres really no reason for me not to be in this one too. Is it vehicles only or figures too?
I`ll be building a vehicle not sure which one tho. I have a few lying around to be built and lord knows how many figures still to be built or painted.
Should be funBig Smile [:D]

Excellent, please go ahead. And you too Larry.
I have to warn you I'm far from being a good modeler, but I'll give it my best.
Also, the badge is not final. You may post another and we can vote for the best one.

Now to take some pictures of the sprues before I begin. Where is my Censored [censored] camera?
