Yeah, that's how they do it. It was a strange thing to experience it for the first time when I was a helmsman on the Ranger, to see the bow turn at a different rate than the compass heading. After that, I just kept my head down and watched the compass until the new heading was reached.

I've never noticed this before but that carrier is in a skidding right turn (way out of trim). Kinda cool looking.

Mark you going with the kit supplied aircraft or the LionRoar 1/700 scale aircraft set #3?
If you go with the LionRoar set look at my Chuyo thread I have the full assembly instructions for that set posted.
