Sorry Hokey but they were commissions so they are long gone. I remember buying those  two from a Canadian shop on special with free shipping at $42 each! Should have kept one but they are so big, but I'm keeping this Type IX for sure. I did keep the Type VII/C in 1/144 scale. I used the Griffon detail set which included metal barrels, periscopes and railings along with a ton of tiny details. I opened up all the flood holes, including the central drainage area and built up the frame detail with plastic sheet.

That's sooo cool. Were they all builds of the Revell 1/72 kit? Just variants? Also, how can I see larger (and more) pix of that build? Also, what is "kept the set of VII" stuff??

Bish

I've built several of the Type VII/C's in 1/72 and are very nice. Also their 1/144 scale with the Griffon update set is excellent. I will give you the scoop once the 505 docks.

Several? Wow . How bout posting pics of them?

I ordered mine in Sept and just received the notice that it shipped out and will dock at my door on Dec.17th!!

Looks like another winner from Revell of Germany at a very decent price. Now have to wait for some nice PE upgrades although I've read that the details are excellent  including the railings reported to be thin and within scale.

I did too and got the ship notice today. I hope you post PE info here please!

Hi!

I got mine from local suplier last monday. 69 euros. I think that was decent price.

Bish, you know that you need a 1/72 Gato if you're gonna have both 72nd U-Boats... and a 72nd Flower Class Corvette and...

You built several, wow, I think one will be enough for me. I have heard nothing but good things about that kit. I just need the display space and I can get it built. I think the two together will be a nice display.

I am also hoping there will be some wood decks, I have the ones for the VIIc and they look very nice. Can't wait to see what you think of it PJ

Be interested to see what you think of it. I will wait to the new year and then add it to the VIIc. If that's any thing to go by, the IX should be a nice build.
