Congratulations Grandpa Rob. You as well Grandpa Plastic Junkie.
Steve
PS. I am still following your WIP. I am enjoying it.
Congratulations! That is a very pretty name and a beautiful baby. I also became a grandpa on Nov. 2!
Too many models to build, not enough time in a lifetime!!
Congratulations to You, your daughter and son in law.
Plus Marlo Ella
Building the perfect model---just not quite yet
Thanks Guys. For the Wiring, I'm using Plastuct .01 Round Rod
Last night while working on the Instrument Panel Wiring, I received a phone call from my Son In Law saying that my daughter was in labor. After 5 hours of pushing, Marlo Ella was born at 5:25 this morning. I'm a Grandpa.........
After a little rest I got back to it and finished the wiring on the Instrument Panel.

Thanks GAF
Made a knife and holster for the hatch, but I don't like it. Seem too big, so I'll make another tomorrow.
Freedom 7 carried a parachute that could be used by Alan Shepard if needed. It's mounted to his right. This is made out of a block of balsa covered with foil. I'll prime it before I go to bed tonight.
Started modifying the Hatch

These bolt heads look bad, so they have to go......
New bolt heads will be made from Plastruct .040 & .080 Hex Rod. 45 .040 and 3 .080 heads are needed. I made a few extras just in case. After removing the bolt heads from the bottom piece, I sanded smooth, primed then repainted. I painted the new bolt heads silver and glued them on with Micro krystal kleer. The Rocket Motor needs a little more work after I removed the lower piece. Pics of that later. The Aerodynamic Wedge painted flat black and gun metal is ready to install

Thanks for the kind words.
The seat pads were made from a car wash shamy. Parachute lines are masking tape folded on itself and cut to width.
I just came across your build. Amazing!
What did you use for the parachute lines and the seat backing?
Really looking forward to more progress, keep up the amazing work!
On the bench: So many hanger queens.
This is really going to be something when it's done.
I wasn't happy with the straps on the Escape Rocket. so I removed them and cleaned up the seams
