I am so glad I found this discussion. I own a badger 150(with as fine head & needle) and would like to get a fine line airbrush, affordably though.

What problem's might I encounter hooking up an Iwata to my Badger air compressor(Thayer and Chandler - Air Star V)? Will it require special fittings or adapters?

I look forward to owning an Iwata so I can join this Iwata festschrift.

haha, come on that doesn't really prove anything.

but yea i've been breaking out my HP-SBS more often than my other airbrushes from FIVE companies these days, since I've started to do more aircrafts and using more modelmaster enamels.  as far as my tamiya acrylic goes, the HP-CH and BH still had priority over others.   and even the Tamiya HG Superfine (which shares the same quality as Iwatas) gets to see the daylight once in a while.

hey ryan, relax friend, just giving my opinion is all.  not trying to "prove" anything.  these type threads are circular.  anybody who has been here for a while and posts on the airbrush forum, knows we are beating a dead horse.  making a statement about which airbrush is the "best" or "better", or which is better for this job or that, is all a personal choice.  each one of us have different quirks.  i just found the "best" airbrush for MY needs, and haven't found the need to purchase another since the HP-CS.  thanks, later.Wink [;)]

I finally took a break from my college work, those essay's are killing me! Banged Head [banghead]

I hooked up with my buddy a while back and wow was I surprised.

He handed me a nice care package.
I opened the little box to find a used but shiny HP-CS, spare needles, O-rings, gaskets, springs, all kinds of neat stuff including some glass bottles that I can attach to my BCS.

He gave me some pints of different colors of enamel paint, some were even those fancy paints he uses for the murals. He also threw in some DA sanding disks, some ginder disk, different grades of wet & dry and said - "Before the cold weather gets here, go play on your truck. Don't burnout on just college work."

So I'm pretty excited but am wondering when and how to find the time to play now! Confused [%-)]

Hey bro, I figured that was coming... Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

My truck is in need of serious body work and a basic paintjob before I do fancy stuff on it. Sad [:(]

I might just use it as a practice canvas and sand it back off... who knows.

I'm PO'ed at the wife. She packed the old digital camera up in a box and "thinks" she put it in the shed months ago. Well that narrows it down to roughly 200+ boxes. Shock [:O]

You opened the door broWink [;)] Heck, the truck is a large canvas for ya to test your skills upon. You say it needs body work anyways so, you're not goin' to mess it up any worse than it isMischief [:-,] Practice practice practice until ya get it down pact then sand her down & practice some moreTongue [:P]

As fer the camera,... I think I'd have her go through the boxesSmile,Wink, & Grin [swg]Whistling [:-^]

I just might finish up the body work at least on the bed of the truck and practice on that. This way, if I end up with something decent eventually I can keep it LOL. I also plan on painting up my canoe too, but probably not till spring.

I already told her there's a few things missing she better find. She knows they must be in them boxes.  Evil [}:)]

Thumbs Up [tup]

I have several Iwata's and a Peak C-5.  All nice airbrushes but pale in comparison to the Harder & Steenbeck Evolution 2 in 1.  For about $158.00 U.S from Obeelik's you get an airbrush that comes with two color cups, two needles and a pre-set handle.  It breaks down faster than the Iwata and you can remove the needle from the front of the airbrush.

That sounds like something worth looking at. The needle on the Badger 360 / 155 can also be slid forward significantly, at least enough to wipe it clean before pulling back, by the way.
