GM is locked out in the current SNAFU. He has been over on SPAM in the meantime. So has Mopar Madness.

5 days since the last FSM communication and there is no end in sight. That's stellar customer service for ya.

From a guy that has dealt with customers for over 30 years, the guy meaning me, I can safely say, you don't treat your customer base like this. This is an example of what not to do. I am beyond irritated at how they deal with this forum.

What an absolute pity. We, the forum members, are one of FSMs greatest strengths. We generate interest in their product. And, we do this without them paying a cent to us in sales commission.

Whatever.

It’s another model website that has some members from here. Since the forum problems here, several have shown up there as either new members, or as returning members

By the way, unless I missed something, where is Tankerbuilder,is hevhaving log on issues ?

I was wondering he same thing. I don't think I have seen GMorrison around either.

Now that I think about it, you are correct. I have not seen a post from Tanker or GM for a while. They were always active posters.

Your comments and questions are always welcome.

The Scale Auto forum is having the same problems as this forum. People are having problems loging-in and modelers aren't making new posts.

Your comments and questions are always welcome.

To quote Monty Python, "I'm not quite dead, yet." I visit here on occasion but haven't posted much. I haven't touched a model since mid March. Competing interests over the summer and a good kick in the pants health wise in late March have caused me to be more active outdoors and at the gym. Just because you don't see me posting stuff doesn't mean I'm not here. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all! Mike

Every now and then someone will post a thread from the dead and all these names I knew when i first started come back to me: Moses (the zimmerit expert), Shellback (great builds and badges), bufflehead, Crockett, bobbailey, Hinsky......on and on.

I often wonder why someone would go back as far as 15 years searching old threads. This happens usually with new members with as little as 1 or two posts to their credit. Hmm

Nostalgia

My guess is they did a google search for a specific modeling subject and a link to an old FSM thread popped up in the search. Then reply not realizing the thread was quite old.

Man I hope they get this fixed soon, I think we're loosing menbers again due to frustration. I know a few who are seriously consedering moving their aligence to another forum. Who could blame them? FSM has more ongoing problems than any site. We still don't have spell check of all things, after how many years?

Exactly, perfectly said. And if FSM thinks this is all no big deal, they better think again. This is a big black eye to their branding. If the problem was just a few times, it might not be a problem. In FSMs case, the problem has been chronic. These are potential subscribers that they are turning away. This will hit the company where it counts. Fix the problem! Spend some money and fix this thing once and for all.

Same here. I didn't delete the cookies but using incognito works for me. No issue with using my iPad.

Littletimmy wrote me tonight via personal email. Convinced his PCs OS is too old as evidenced by his chronic log in problems over the many months, he pulled the trigger and got a new Chromebook. Trying everything that was suggested by FSM, he is not able to log in using his new device. Shaking my head.

He said to say hi to all, and that as of now, he can only lurk.

Biting my lip again.

Thanks for Hunter's link Stick. I posted on it and I hope Mrs Anderson sees it but after all this time, it's a long shot.

And just in case, Tempest Johnny sent me a PM over on SPAM asking me to pass the word that he is alive and well. He is just locked out of his account here with the latest FSM IT SNAFU. He can only lurk but not access his account to post here.

Mopar Madness sent me a Facebook message stating he can't get on either, no matter what he tries, even all the sugestions.

He wanted me to spread the word that he's watching but can't post.

Hey y'all, for those that knew him, I did see on the arc site that Rex passed away recently.

How long ago was that? He posted something on SPAM less than 2 weeks ago...

I have had e-mails from Theuns and Eagle saying the same thing.

I have also noticed that a lot of new members give their intro and are never heard from again. having to wait a day or to for your first post to show can't help. All these problems are not going to do the site any favours.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

I wish I had seen the post, I feed so bad about it. This is going to upset my wife, she's always asking if I heard from him.

I can't say that I knew him but I am sorry for your loss and the families loss.

I fear that website snafus may be a major cause for those to leave and never be hard from again.

Every time that there is a forum revamp some folks punch out. Others leave when the mods crack down on whatever happens to be going on at that particular time and their buddy gets axed. And some just drift away to  other sites for reasons of their own.
