I've "gravity tested" a few myself.  Gravity usually wins.  And then the fun of trying to find all of the pieces.

Here is some of the repair work. The nose wheel had broken off where the forks joined the strut. After I glued the forks back in place, I trimmed some sheet brass to fit in the channel between the raised edges and superglued it in place for reinforcement. One strip per outer side. My camera is acting up and only this image came out.

I am gonna prime it now, and paint and weather it later.

Brass reinforcements added this afternoon... now I'm back where I was at last week...

I must say that brass and super glue come in handy for fixing stuff...

Well I have now reapired the nose gear, but will have to add some brass strip reinforcement to make sure it will bear the weight. Oh what a pain... but in another few days or so, all the fiddly bits will be on and it will be completed...

This one is almost at the IP...

The kit is the Monogram 1/48 Sukhoi SU-25 Frogfoot in which I have invested just too much time...

Well, there's yer problem, times 2... It's 1: Soviet and B: a jet...  It's a well-known fact that all jets suck, and everything without a prop blows...

Oh wow.... Just got to thinkin'.... How do ya call in a Spot Report on a pair of those birds? Frogfoots? Frogfeet? Hmmm...

I've heard Daywalker's story before and it ranks right up there for hilarious frustration.

As for me, a couple months ago I dropped a freshly primed SBD after tripping over my dog. The thing hit the concrete in such a way as to make one LG look like it went through a woodchipper!

After killing my dog........j/k.........a friend here sent me a replacement. (Thanks again Aaron!)

I too have had a few "incidents", and although I wasn't too upset my them; somehow it enfuriated others. For example-

   When I was younger, I used the kitchen table as my bench. My parents had just gotten a new kitchen table, and I knew I couldn't use that anymore. But just like any All American kid would, I did it anyways! I messed up, and spilled a brand new bottle of paint! I did everything I could to clean it, but to no avail.

Needless to say, it was a terrible night once my father got home from work

I've had a few "incidents" in the past. Some used to really get me PO'd. Anymore I just let it go and figure "ah, heck. I can fix it, I'm a modeler".

But just a few minutes ago I was attaching a canopy that's to narrow for the area it goes onto so it has to be clamped. Had it where I wanted it when I started to gently move so I could clean up some white glue before it dried. The f$%%ing think slipped and the canopy nearly disappered into the fuse via the cockpit. I was instantly PO'd. After a few deep ones I gathered the resolve and futured the canopy. Now, it's going to get CA'd when the future dries. I win!

Ah, one of those. (OOP expensive kit)

It happened by chance, not really.  It was in the cards.  You have now developed a new prototype. 

I feel for you.  Hope you will be able to repair the damage.  Now you become a airplane body repair man.

Bummer!  I have had those days, needing a hobby to get away from my hobby!

One experience that sticks out in my mind was while painting a 109.  I was holding it gently, then dropped it right on the carpet while the paint was wet, cracking open the wing LE seams.  Put everything away, then fixed the model.  Next time painting, I dropped it AGAIN and broke the other wing off.  It made a quick flight into the round file.  That was a long time ago before I saved parts from wrecked kits.
