Ok who is the Dumb @ss  at the Ministry of Defense that told Supermarine that it was ok to install the fuel tanks in front of the pilot?

Hopefully they sorted that out in the later marks of the Spitfire?

That would be old man CG.  Most fuel tanks are located near the CG so balance is not upset as fuel burns off.  Many single engine fighters were that way unless they had enough wing volume to hold adequate fuel there.

Incredible work Foz, glad you have found the haven to work in and the time and patience. Its obviously a gift and a passion!

I have just got back to modelling after 30 years and am lucky enough to have my own hobby room in a far off quite part of the house, and a very understanding wife.

However, I only get in there two or three times a week due to pressure of business, so I am a straight from the box man right now whilst I re learn the skills. I am also an ex pat but live in rural Tennessee,

Cheers, and well done again, Ian
