Raven: That does look to be a nice one. Those profipack kits are a fairly good bang for the buck.

I'll also be doing an Emil, and although I have both a Royal boxing as well as an E-1 overtrees kit from Eduard, I haven't built any of them yet.

From a construction aspect, the main thing to look out for is the engine.  There is a choice of either building it displayed, or have the engine covers closed, in which case you don't need the engine as the covers won't fit over it.

No particular markings, other than I'd like to do the yellow cowling (I'm building an early-war Stuka without the gelb and feel like I'm missing out on something ). I've been wanting to do an Afrika Korps scheme for a while now, so I figure this is a good place to start. Also, I've never done an Eduard kit so that'll be a good experience too. Have you built this kit?

I'm in. I'm just getting back into this hobby so I think just sticking with the basic out of box is best for me.

Yup, stitched cloth it is, although I'm sure they didn't last forever in service, and often times were left off exposing some wing internal structure.

You're welcome, guys. Here's a few more. Of note is the supercharger intake, not very accurately represented in most kits (with corrections available from barracuda and eagle that I know of). The wheel well liner is interesting. I never realized it is stitched cloth.( I sure wish I could've gotten some pics of the 'pit!)

Ye, I have that one Allen. But in this case, I am really interested in pics of engines that are out of the aircraft but I will defiantly be using the engine pics in the Walk Around as well. I need a combination of both for the engine build.

Would defiantly like to see those engine pics Tom.

I was at the Smithsonian the other day and took some pics of the 109 there.Four of the daimler-benz they had up as static. Sadly, I didn't have my good camera and it's dark in there, but..maybe they can help someone?

It would be an Academy 1/48.

That would be an awesome build MC. What scale would you do it in? In 1/48, I think all there is the MDC or cutting edge conversion? Same for 1/32; I don't think there is a dedicated kit in either scale.(or mabye Hobbycraft?)

As far as the IDF, that's all there was. They were just gaining their independence, and were hard up for planes and pilots. The 109 Gs had to be fitted with the Jumo's because no more DBs existed. A warehouse in Czech. where they were stocked up burnt down. The performance suffered greatly with the Jumo, and it was called the Mule.

I might do a Finnish 109 as well. I don't recall anyone signing up with one so far and I think it would be a nice change of pace in an otherwise Luftwaffe dominated GB? The Eduard Royal Class has some decals for one too... Whaddya guys think?

I am doing a Croation G-14. More Co-Belligerent markings would be nice to see. Got a profile of your proposed markings? I'm sure I have a pic of it. 

How about a 1/48 Avia S-199A, a Czechoslovak production modified 109G-14 in IDF markings. That would be a little different.

It has the Swastikas on it. The aircraft itself in painted with the usual RLM colors but It also has a bit of RLM 66 mixed in on the outside as well as a whole lot of yellow...
