Model Maniac

The cockpit and the engine look great, Toshi! Once finished, will the gun bay be still viewable?

Thank you Model Maniac.  The Eduard Big Ed Set really helped.  It enhanced the kit.

As for the gun bay, one can cover it up  with the provided panels or one can leave it open to view.  I will leave mines open to view.  I'm sure this comes to no surprise to you as that's how I normally display my models.

What's cool is that the entire cowling is clear.  You can paint it if you wish or leave it clear so the engine will be visible.  I choose to leave it clear.

Thank you Model Maniac for supporting my Corsair project!  I greatly appreciate that.

A cool addition that Trumpeter added was that the gun bay is viewable!

To my fellow forum members,

               (WARNING)

WARNING: These flaps are mis-numbered.  For those of you of whom have this kit in there stash and or plan to purchase this kit, please be aware of this issue.  Just a word of caution.

But if I may add, this kits fit and finish is superb.  The fuselauge went together flawlessly!  No gaps and not a single drop of Tamiya putty needed of which I utilize.

I extremely recomend this kit!

Looking great Toshi. Gotta love these big scales...

Thank you for the kind words.  All of my last five builds have been in 1/32 scale.  I just love the way 1/32 looks.  My only problem  that my wall is getting full.

Nice job Toshi!  The cockpit looks amazing!

Thank you Keyda81.  It has a lot of PE in it due to the Eduard Big Ed Set.  That really helps visually.  I like the direction your maurader is heading.  Thank you for coming along my Corsair thread, I really appreciate it!

JOE RIX

Upon inspection of your progress I'd have to say that things are looking absolutely fantastic. You have done some very stellar work on the cockpit. It looks great. Good to see you're getting it buttoned up and moving smartly along.

Mr. JOE RIX, thank you for such kind words.  I am most humbled.  My progress and inspiration comes from members like you of whom continuously support my builds.  I am extremely greatfull for that!

As for the cockpit, I was very surprised by my end product.  I feel that the Eduaurd PE Big Ed Set truly helped me in that department.  There's still a ton of Photo Etch to apply from this point on, wish me luck!

Great progress^ Toshi, very nice work on the office.

Keep'em coming.

^ You will be finished before I get my Corsair done!

Thank you damouav.  I get my inspiration from members like you and fellow forum members.  I Definately will keep'em coming!

I don't know if I'll finish before you as I still have lots of PE to do on the exterior of the F4U.  The fit and finish on this thing is superb!  After my Kingfisher fiasco, this is a dream come true kit.

I want to personally thank you for all the support you've given me.  I most greatly appreciate it!

Nice work. I'd like to try one of these someday. There is a way through Flickr to post the pics so they display rather than having to click on them. If you'd like I can pm the steps. Dave

Thank you shamoo.  I highly recommend this kit for the money.  If you want to build the Corsair of Corsair's, get the 1/32 Tamiya Corsair.

As for Flickr, I'm using a iPhone 7      iOS system.  Everybody walked me through the process.  There's just certain things the iOS system doesn't have as oppose to a Windows program.  Thank you for the offer, I highly appreciate it.  Also thank you for the support you give me on my builds.

Thank you Uncle Jay Jay.  Thanks to you and Forum members support, this allows me to build like this.  I just hope the rest of the build turns out great.

It's feels fantastic to build something like the Trumpeter Corsair.  The parts, fit, and finish are superb.  I can completely recommend this kit.  Especially if your a Corsair fan!  Thank you Uncle Jay Jay for following all of my builds.  It's extremely appreciated.

Toshi, I just finished checking out your Flickr pics for this build. That PE stuff is tiny even at the 1:32 scale. Good grief!! It's looking pretty sharp. Can't wait to see more of this shape up. =]

Thank you for the kind comments and thank you for checking out my Flickr links.  I really do enjoy working with PE, it's another challenging aspect in the build.  Finally thanks for the support, read, and replies!

Superb work on the engine and cockpit Toshi. You seem to be working quite comfortably with that PE.

Toshi
btw, what kit is it, what scale, what era WWII, Korean, etc.  color configuration.  Lmk we can work together.

It's a 1/72 scale Testors kit. Decals for 3 WWII  birds. No cockpit at all and only has about 25 parts so it's just for practice. I'm going to go with Non specular blue over intermediate blue. The engine is one piece molded to the cowl so I have to do somthing about that. Otherwise it will look just toylike.

I'm counting down the days untill my shop is cleared for me to work ( the wife just "dragged" me to Tuson to get all the kitchen counters ) so on the way home I bought some paint. I should be up and running sometime next week.  YAY !!!

Will DEFENETLY be posting pictures as soon as I find the shop floor. (it's so full I can open the door but can't get in. )

I havent glued anything to anything in 3 years so watching you work has made me feel like a kid waiting in line to see santa.... are we there yet .... are we there yet.....

Dont worry about the thumbprint, paint it Rust , and call it "Battle Damage"

Your engine work always amazes me. I'd send you some of mine to finish but you will want to hit em with a hammer.....which would actually improve them !

I just got a Corsair  so I 'm following along. so I can "steal " some of your ideas.
