Mach1,

Sorry about the mix-up. It's been corrected.

GA,

Will add it to the front page. Did you get it done?

Sorry I didn't get back to y'all sooner. Family has been in town for a few days. Will get everything updated tomorrow.

Got the front page updated with Mach's A9 and GA's selection. Gentlemen, this build will come to an end on Sunday Feb. 2, 2020. The build rate is starting to fall off, so get off your duffs and get to building. As always, if you've started something but haven't finished it, keep at it and post pics when it's done.

Feb 2 hard deck!  I like working under pressure!!  Gonna give it a shot this weekend with:

Smer kit No.121 1/50 scale.  Easy, right!?

In my best George Takei voice Oh My! A SMER kit, now that's a manly man's kit. This should be most entertaining. I had planned to make my second attempt this weekend, but work will be getting in the way. Looks like my next chance will be next weekend.

Much against my better judgment, I've decided to try again-1/48 Hasegawa bf109g-10.

Going for the Wilde Sau version-one color, no masking.  Since starting, I have the interior and some other bits painted-but evenings are not my best time after a week of work-will start early am with masking canopy and assembling interior-hope to have it painted and maybe a coat of Future by tomorrow night

Happy with this mornings progress-canopy masked (really need to remember to order Eduard pre-cut next year...), cockpit in place (really wanted to scratch build the fuel line that runs thru the cockpit, but after looking for some wire, I decided to stay out of the box).

Fit of the Hasegawa kit is very good-and it looks like the G-10 kit will make a G-6-all the pieces but the canopy.

Anyway, here's where we are now-

Taking a break for the start of the 24 Hours of Daytona-should be able to get fuselage complete quickly, Tamiya spray can prime and hopefully Vallejo Model Air RLM 76 tonight.

Got rollin last night!

First thing this morning:

Cockpit is just seats and dashboards.  Could have gone wild with the 3 instruments in the back panel, throttle, stick, rudder pedals, etc. but you cant see a lot and I didn't want to take the extra time--had to take the Christmas stuff down today!

Looks good freem-off to a great start.

109 is primed-going to wait for another hour or two before applying the Vallejo Model Air-I have a piece of primed plastic (same time as 109) to test first.  If all goes well I'll Future it tomorrow morning and hopefully decals early afternoon.

Got the RLM 76 sprayed on-Not sure if I'm going to try to Future it in a couple of hours or wait until the am

Painted!

All that's left is to paint the gear (that was my handle to paint the top), hang the engine and prop, a few decals and 3 small detail parts and she's done.

Looking good freem-getting close

Sprayed the Future @0600 this am-started decalling @ noon-decals are thick and wrinkled quite a bit-using minimal decals, i.e., no stencils, in order to keep from getting frustrated.

Needed to make some night figher exhaust suppressors but I'll save that for later.

Taking a breather before diving back in-need to install p.e. harness and all the small bits...should make the deadline.

Made it-kinda-a lot of little things I want to cleanup, add dull coat & oil wash but overall happy.

Lewbud-as always, thank you for organizing this GB-always fun to watch & participate.

Cheers

Made it!!!!!!

Smer 1/50 Avia BH-11.  Not a bad kit at all.  Some simple stuff in the cockpit and you'd have a real winner.  Scales out with some museum photos I found on the web.  Reckon I put about 6 hours off and on since Friday night.

Well done Chris! Do you have pic you'd prefer for the front page of is it my choice?  Just a reminder gents that this little build of ours will be closing on Sunday 2 Feb. As long as your build is started before 2359 2 Feb, you're golden. As always special requests will be entertained.

Got the front page updated (finally Whistling) with Bob's and Freem's builds.  Will start my final attempt this evening with either a 1/72 Tamiya P-51D (will have to find a simple paint job) or Hasegawa's 1/72 X-29 in a what if scheme. How's your build coming GA?
