Hi all, I've hosted a Weekend Madness GB the last two years and had a lot of fun.
This years build will be held the weekend of November 13th and 14th 2010 but please see the rules below as there is some flexibility for those who can't build that specific weekend.
Here is a link to the last Weekend Madness GB
Here are the rules:
Open to everyone
Any model type (armor, aircraft, ship, auto, rail, fantasy, figures, etc.)
Any scale
Out of the box or AM - your choice
Cross over builds with other Group Builds are allowed
Must be completely unstarted (sniffing the styrene is okay but no snipping parts off and cleaning them up - if you've previously snipped the parts off the sprue thats okay but as of now no touchy!)
Must post pics at the start of the unbuilt model
Must post pics of the finished model at the deadline - if you don't quite finish by the deadline you Must still post pics of the currrent state of the model at the deadline.
Post as many pics of the progress along the way as you can
Since everyone's schedule and responsibilities differ there is no official start time. However, the build will be limited to 48 hours, preferably over the Friday/Saturday/Sunday of the chosen weekend. So, if you start at 5:00pm on Friday you must finish by 5:00pm on Sunday. If you don't start until 11:00pm on Friday you have until 11:00pm on Sunday.
For those who want to participate but whose weekends don't fall on the traditional Sat-Sun or, if you can't build on that specific weekend, you are welcome to participate either the weekend before or after or anywhere in between, just keep to the same time frame (48 hrs) and as close to the designated weekend that you can. Anything outside of the week before or the week after the designated weekend would not be encouraged.
HAVE FUN!!!

Count me in! Was just too late for the last one and would love to have a go at a weekend build. Not sure what yet. Probably a simple revell kit in 1/72.

I'm keen Dave, count me in as well
Count me as interested, I will have to clear it with the boss first.
Kirk
Richard, Julez, glad to have you aboard. Hopefully a few more will show some interest.
Kirk, welcome aboard too. (Conditional on the boss' approval that is )
I have a US army staff car in my stash, Tamiya 1/48... i'll more than likely do that one...
Dave-are crossovers, i.e., a kit that we are building for another GB, allowed? If so and the weekend isn't Thanksgiving weekend, I might be up for another attempt.
Thanks
Bob
As usual, I'm in. My son turns 4 next week and I was going to buy him some Snap-Tite kits. We can do this together.
Regards,
Jeff
Bob, I copied and pasted the rules from last year. Crossover builds are more than welcome.
Jeff, welcome aboard. Great to see you're giving your son an early start in the hobby.
Dave,
Performed some pondering work over what kit to choose from (kinda hard with only three braincells...) and decided on Revell of Germany's P47D-30 in 1/72, one of their better newer molds. Please put me down for that one
This sounds really cool! I'm a Junior in High School, so obviously my homework, essays, and projects come first on the weekends, but if I don't have anything going on that weekend, (I won't know until a few days before), I would love to get in on this! I've been looking for an excuse to try 1/72 scale armor, so I'll probably do a Tiger in that scale. One question: Is there going to be a badge for this, or something for my page so that I can show off that I built something in 48 hours?

On the Bench: 1/48 Eduard Avia B-534 Series IV, Cyber Hobby Messerschmidt Bf-109 E-4
Richard: Updated the list with your choice. There is lots of time to ponder though so feel free to change it if necessary.
SFM: Welcome aboard. There will indeed be a badge. I was perusing my Calvin and Hobes collection last night to scout out a suitable selection.
But of course, love to!
Woohoo!!! Bill is here!
Oh boy...
Can't miss this one! Sign me up Dave.

Frank, Stikpusher, welcome back guys.
As for the date, I'm looking at the calendar and I'm thinking the weekend of November 13th and 14th. Veteran's Day/Remembrance Day holiday is the Thursday before and this may give some people an opportunity to get an early start if they need to. What do you all think? This will also give people some time to get their stuff (paint decals etc.) together before the build.
I can't do it that weekend, but I could be a later gator.
Count me in again please
Kit unknown yet, will let you know closer to the date
Andrew
Andrew, welcome back.
Bill, and all, the weekend of November 20th and 21st is open too so let me know what works best.
Me and Nick can go with whatever weekend.
Mid to late November would be great as the missus should of finished all her uni assignments for the year by then.
Dave-I'm good with both weekend choices.
Anythign after mid November works for me!
Hi, I did last years Weekend Madness build....well, I failed basically....took me a week . I really wanna try again but I'm not sure if I have the time [snark!] But seriously, I'm in 3 other GB's at the moment. Since it doesn't start until late November, can you put me down as 'tentative'? I had tons of fun last time and I'd hate to miss out but I don't want to bite off more than I can chew...

Dave- I am working the weekend of the 20th and 21st, so that is no good for me. But, I am off the weekend of the 13th and 14th.
Pencil me in for this one. The big thing it'll depend on is which weekend, since November usually has at least one busy weekend for me besides Thanksgiving. Let me know how much leeway there will be for "not-quite-weekend-but-48-hour" entries so I can plan more details as we get closer to the date.
As for subject, the crossover GB idea's out at this point ( the only other GB I'm signed up for involves mecha, no way to do a decent job in 48 hours ), so I'll plan on a simple1:72 or 1:144 plane kit.
By the way, I hope you stick with the Calvin theme for the badge.
