I finally got back to the bench, I know it has been a while and is well past time for some pictures so here are a few. Got the brake lines on the car so the rear end is finished other than the tail tank. Got the foot guards on too and the front end is on. The racing harness, shy of the shoulder belts, is in and scratch made from tape and heavy foil from a frozen mac & cheese pan.

The in $ out cable was made from wire from a usb cable, knew I would find a use for all those extra ones I have layin around.

Got the hood and tail tank painted and decaled too, with homemade decals.

Not much left to get this one finished.

Hey Guys and Gals, I`ve been trying to finish up my F-9-F and will try to post a few pics now...

Have it in a little vise by the wing tank...trying to make some more realistic looking glass for the recon cameras in the nose...

...using Testor`s clear glue/window maker...not dry yet, will take several days...put it on a bit thick...

Yes those blue birds do have a certain attraction to them, don't they?Hmm

But so do the silver ones... Wink

Today I applied the wash on all panel lines on my 2nd build for here, the Hun.

Depending on the weather tomorrow, I may or may not apply the top coat and put on all the final bits... pretty hot n humid here right now... rather tropical Paradise

Ha! I built that same kit when I first got back into the hobby, around `07 or so....that kit is a year older than me! Built up pretty decent though, for being an ancient kit....Big Smile...even used the decals that came with it....I`ll dust `er off and take a few pics in a bit.

Len

EDIT:  Just so I don`t seem like a babblin` idiot, I`m referring to the Monogram Fw-190 dated "1965"..posted by Rigidrider.

Geez Len, you sound like an old babblin' idiot!!!  lol   (I'm only 29!  :-P)

Anyway, I think I've come up with build #4.  I'm going to build the 1/48 Skyraider that Revell recently re-popped.  When I get somewhere with it, I'll post some pics.

I know I haven't been around much lately, but I've been checking up on here occasionally and there is some awesome work being done.  Keep it up!

OK, my F-100 is done. Half the pics I did came out too blurry, so I will go back and reshoot late tonite or early tomorrow. This one will have to do for here for now.

Beautiful! I used to see these all the time when I was younger flying out of Selfridge Air Field in Michigan. Brings back memories!

I've never seen any USAF Century Series aircraft fly, except the F-101 and  F-104. Sad And those were both in RCAF service when I saw them fly. Unless you count the F-111 and F-117, but those are not in the same league in my book. Only on the ground on display at Museums or open houses. Cool

OK, as promised, more pics of my Monogram F-100. This issue of the kit even came with a commemorative patch, so I had to include a shot with it...

Thank you professor. You are building up a rep with me very quickly. you have jumped in and hit the ground running here. Excellent to see with the loss of some many long standing active forum members here over the past few months. Keep up the fire!

Thanks guys. I really enjoyed this "quick build" (for me...)

Freem- home projects are no excuse, unless your one of those guys really into that stuff. The bench needs YOU!

Vette, I personally feel that the weathering came out a little heavier than I intended, but I am pleased with the results. It does give the "well used war horse" look that I wanted.

Thank you, Your too kind... I kinda figured the ground crew had slapped on a quick field applied white with brown smears and brush streaks, and being late winter, the finish was fading and had taken a real beating during the harsh Russian winter. As I said earlier, this kit has a 1965 date molded into the inner fuselage and the instructions state "printed in 1965". So I guess not a bad little kit for a 47 years old! (lol) And again... a lot of fun just building OOB with what ya got! Problem is ...the 1/48 scales are getting a bit hard to work with... I think they are making them smaller now days...(grin)

Heh,.. Thanks, y'all..

First, lemme apoligize to all of you for being outta the net for so long... I was brought down behind enemy lines about five weeks ago and had to E&E back to friendly territory...

Truth of the matter is that my boss got a new hobby, which is flippin' houses... He bought three more houses (naturally, none in the same town) and I've been "living' in them as I work to restore them to livable conditions... Using the cheapest materials in the minumum amounts mind you...  I don't have the heart to tell him that he's gonna run into probems (like building permits) very soon.. Cheap bassige needs to find that out hisself... But that's anotyher story...

At any rate, I've got the barest minimum of creature-comforts in these places (I think I actually had better living conditions inside the back of a CUCV), and have been working ten-twelve hours a day, seven days a week, for the last five weeks trying to bring these "houses" back into sellable shape...

Anyway, long story short, I told him flat-out I was taking THIS weekend off, and if he didn't like it, to find another guy to run these jobs...

I promise to get bak in action here soon.. I'll get caught up with all you guys' wonderful work, answer questions, take and give y'all sh*t, whatever...  Might even get them new GB badges done.. (Meantime, grab the opriginal Monogram Mafia Badge for yerselfs if you haven't already done so)

I plan also on getting y'all's finished works uploaded to the appropriate forums for the outstanding models you built from these great old kits, so's the rest of the membership gets to see what we're doing here...

In the meantime...

A rusted-out Weber grill with three legs is needing attention from me (as I plan on slamming a large piece of dead cow on it in about ten minutes)... Arr, arr, ARRR!!!!

Good to see you have returned.

I thought you were shot down on the Russian Front and wouldn't return until the Gulags are disbanded.
