The hard part is gona be figuring out the paint scheme I wanna go with.

I've got two in mind but have the same kind of problem. I look at it this way: Given the 11 weeks left until the build starts and I'm looking at between 10-11 months to build this puppy I've got alot of time to decide what my scheme is going to be.

Hey, btw, how do you get the badge that you have on your sreen when you post?

Go to community settings, then inside 'signature' you post the '[IMG]' code of the image you want as a 'standard' below your posts,
just don't take a to big one because otherwise it might be annoying for others to scroll down the entire way

My badge are 100px (pixels) high and the badges I design and post for others are 150px, those should do the trick as it beeing readable but not annoying for others.

With regards, Ninetalis.

Killer badge Ninetails...One of the best I've seen, Most all are cool but some just reach out and grab ya! This one grabs ya!   Mustang, you've already got the kit I'll start out with and by saturday I should be able to pare down the aircraft and paint ( I  hope) I think I told you but likely 2Jg1 or 3Jg26. Still checking for paint schemes and suplimental markings if I dont have them already. I think this is going to be a kick ass build!

Thanks Doug, It is very pleasurable to see so many people getting worked up about this GB with this new badge! (in a good way) But I can't really take all the credit for this, I just edited a drawing of a comic book drawer (although I can remember his name, I hope he is as happy as you guys to see that we're using it for a purpose like this)
I put a special layer over it, adjusted some tones and pieces in the 'sky' and other details.

I wish I could draw like some of those comic book guys, although I'm trying my best learning to do that as I'm trying to learn how to become a good modeler, one small step at a time
(that's how I like it, not overrushing things) I might need some pictures when I want something explained (because long texts allways seem to bore me and leaves me with alot more questions, sorry) but I'll get there with the help of guys like you and my IPMS chapter!

Anyway, I don't wanna go off topic here, Mustang, tomorrow I'll be going to that convention I mentioned before, I hope I'll find that decal sheet which I spoke off and maybe a 190 A-8 to build the one I have in mind! I'll be sure to post it when I find 'em! Otherwise, well there still are some big conventions coming up before 2013 comes up, that is, if the world isn't going to end before we get there, ... lol

With regards, Ninetalis.

I have some decals to do an FW 190A-8 in French Air Force markings, circa 1946. So there you have my entry.

Thats gonna be an interesting build Tony, I keep forgetting that the fw190 remained in service with the french for a short while after the war. They also got to keep some Yak 3 and 9s. Woulda been an interesting fleet for a post-war air force.

That's going to be a plane that definitely stands out in a crowd. Never thought of it but that is a great idea. Can't wait to see it already. Seems like time can't fly by fast enough to get to January!!!

Thanks guys. The decal sheet I have has decals for a few 190s, a Do 335, and a He 162. All have tweaked my interest.

Cheers

Joe, I'll be a puttin' together a 1/72 Hasegawa FW190F-8. I have PE seatbelts already and a sweet AM decal sheet enroute. Thanks for getting this going Joe as I'm breaking ground on Luftwaffe aircraft here. Something that is long overdue for me.

                            Joe

Joe which decal sheet have you got coming. I've got the same kit and was to happy with the decals, so i got a set from Authentic Decals.

Bish - I too got the Authentic Decals F-8 set. 12 options on the sheet. I'm leaning towards one of the MTO schemes. Joe

Thats a nice set. I am going for one of the MTO schemes as well, i have decided on red 12 from SG 4. Though i don't think i will be doing that build for this GB. So i will be keen to see how you get on.

I am deffinatly looking forward to this, i don't have a completed 190 yet, so its about time i changed that. I would be an early starter, i have 4 other builds to do, including the current one, before i get to this. But i will be watching in the mean time.

Well, heres the "Dora" 9 that I'm going to start with... 5Gp/Jg26 White 3. The brief write up I found when trying to decide who to do, along with that hideous celery green looking fuselage and tail kinda got my interest. They say due to the constant bombings and increasing lack of proper record keeping that little was known of this aircraft and its pilot. It was noted that he survived the war, being shortly after the surrender, he was observed setting her down in a field, powering down, getting out, and just walking away. I am looking at an A-6 to do also, still researching that one.

They include a piece of the A-8 that was shot down in Kovarska on Sept 11, 1944. The plane became a lawn dart and went nose first into the ground. All that was left was pieces of the bird. Thats whats in the plastic bag in the middle picture above.

I'll be building the Eduard weekend edition 1/48 FW-190A-8 item number 8429.

This will be my first Eduard kit, hope it doesn't bite me. LOL
