Doh!  I didn't realize the time limit was up on this GB.

I guess I will have to roll my 53 over to the 2014 auto GB.  The weather is too nice so I don't see myself completing either build very soon.

At least I got the one done.  Poorly -but done.  :)

Thanks for running the GB Tony, it was fun and I learned a lot.

10 days to go folks. Let me know if you want to complete your build here or transfer it over to the 2014 Automotive GB

Cheers

Tony

I'm just taking it one GB at a time.

Great effort Eric. Wear your badge with pride. It looks pretty good to me, and the Grabber Orange looks just right. Thanks for completing it, and also for your contribution with the badges.

Cheers

Did some of the cosmetic stuff to the Mustang yesterday. Finished the chrome foil, mounted the windshield, mounted the engine. If all goes to plan, It will be finished this weekend.

I'll post some pics Saturday.

Tony, I will need to roll the vette and the funny car over to the other group build. Thanks

Eric

Thanks Tony.

pws,

I like that color. I did a 70 Chevelle in natural khaki which similar and it came out great.

Didn't do much to the Mustang today as I was prepping a Gremlin for the other GB. I did get some more chrome work done.

I did set the body on the frame to see how it's gonna sit. it's a nice kit but the wheels that came with were crap, so I robbed a set of Cragers from another kit hehehe. I like it! hehehehe

Thanks for letting me know 68GT, I'll add it to that GB and note it here. I might even have to do the same.

I never really got started on my Mustang funnycar so I'm just going to roll it over to the 2014 automotive GB.

On Ed's bench, ???

Hi Everyone,

Since it's the first of May, it's timely to remind everyone to get their entries in before 31 May, though you can finish what you've started after that, of course.

Really nice work Eric, the Boss 429 was my favourite for many years. That's a fancy set of trumpets on that thing.

Here's an update on the Mustang.

Engine is wired and most of the chassis stuff is done. I've also finished the interior and drilled out the holes for the gauges. Also started chroming the trim on the body.

L8TR,

Eric.

Yeah, I'm with you on that Eric. It was much more restrained, at least in paintwork.

Thanks Tony,

Yep it's Grabber Orange. I wish the 429 had the stripes like the 302. Haven't had much time due to work but I hope to get some more done in the next few days.

I like your choice of colour again Eric, is it Grabber Orange ? The '70 Boss 429 I built years ago was Grabber Blue, and I've always wanted to complete my set of Boss Mustangs, having done both the '70 cars, I should do a 69 429 and 302, and a 71 351. For some reason, Grabber Green for the 351 appeals, but it's a seriously ugly kit. I still haven't worked out how to fix the molded in headlight lenses.

Hi all,

Here's some updates on the Mustang. I got the 429 decals on and the first coat of clear sprayed. After it dries for a day or two, I'll sand it and spray the final coat.I have most of the engine assembled and started working on the linkage for the tunnel ram.

Eric

Dale,

Once you get a feel of what to look for as your spraying you'll be able to judge how much to use. As your spraying it, it will look a little dull until the stuff starts leveling, so keep that in mind as your spraying.

With this stuff, less is more.

It's raining so about all I did today was start making the gauges for the Mustang. Here's a mock-up of how they look. I still have to finish the rest of the details. I have them printed and just need to drill out the holes.

L8TR,

Eric
