OK. the PE will not win, may end up a draw on this one with many lessons learned. some of the PE not used here can go to URAL-4320. anyway the frame is almost ready to prime. have to add some PE to the back bumper. but, given the pics i am using, if they are distorted a bit no problem, frame will be primed in black and weathered with some oils and some paint misting. the battery box is frame color but the gas tank is desert sand like the overall vehicle so it isn't attached yet.

rocket launcher is ready to prime. i will prime that gray. i will be using VALLEJO AV paints on this one.

thanks BISH. the cab and front end is pretty straight, probably paint inside russian green and assume libyans only repainted the outside. the entire middle section between cab and launcher can be PE. how much i do depends on what i want open.  this truck driver was not very good.

Jack that looks like it would get the best of anybody but it looks fantastic, well done.

Wayne, hang in there. Odd parts and crazy bends may be the hardest thing to do in our hobby.

thanks. they aren't single tubes. the middle 4 rows are top and bottoms pieces and you don't have to worry about seams except in the muzzle and that will be covered with black rocket exhaust staining. the 2 outer tube sets are halves and mounted vertically. the fits were nice and tight.

JIBBER got the rear bumper extensions are attached. second one bent better than the first so i really twisted the first one.  damned driver backed into something. that's my story and i'm sticking to it. more work on it today.

Thanks all for the comments, indeed the resin tracks were a PiA.  Even after attached to the vehicle, guide teeth were falling off.   Though they look a good thickness at the top end, where they attach to the track, they are less than paper thin, so very easily knocked off.  I ended up passing super glue on both sides of the teeth to help shore them up.  

Anyhow, they are on, as are the sand shields.  Also started some work on the commander figure - yeah he's got a tooth pick in place of his head.

Love your weathering, she really does look like she's been cruising though the desert.

I really like that Jack. Though I think its going to take more than an aspirin to cure his headache from that toothpick.

may finally be over this cold. here is the BM-21 to date, frame is primed with black and painted TAMIYA nato black with COMAR and artist oil gray. modern trucks just don't rust like ww2 trucks and the exhaust is VALLEJO AV aluminum. motor isn't going to be seen so no detail there. thought about yanking it out. battery box is open, gas can on left side and painted truck color which is why the frame is there but the gas tank isn't.

rocket launcher is primed with gray ans painted VALLEJO AV dark sand. probably camo with russian green mixed with dark sand and oversprayed with VALLEJO sand primer mist. working on cab now. 

Thanks Gamera, Bish and John - yeah, I think the driver was sculpted to look like he is talking, some angles looks like an Elvis impersonator.  Could be too much shadow on the upper lip, I'll look further into that under natural light tomorrow.

Commander figure has his headache cured.  Might be a bit too tanned, but will chalk that up to his Sicilian ancestry.   Made a decal for the badge on his cap, and needs another round of flat spray.

Vickers light tank Mk VI captured by Italians is now done.

I usually like to include some actual information to put the build in historical context, but other than the two photos,  nothing found about these captured vehicles.  This one in particular seems to have no severe battle damage.  My best guess is the original owners abandoned it either due to mechanical problems or it got stuck in soft sand.  Anyhow, the rest of the photos ...

That is beautiful. From the get go with the added detail, through the painting, subtle dust effects, and then finally, the carefully finished figures at to top it off, this is a model to be proud of. The green, white, and red stripes really announce the tank isn't British anymore, don't they? Very cool.

Again, splendid work! I'll get it up in the Hall of Glory.

Just a quick update from me as I managed to get some things done this weekend. The tank itself needs fully weathering but most of the rest is done, I just need to get a nice wood finish on the crates.
