That was after having ripped apart most of my assemblies and having to rebuild them to the proper assemblies. By this time, I was too fed up with this to go on, so I moved on.

yes and after you put the tires on no one will see any of it. looks like you are at the point of deciding launch or road mode. let me know i have a tip or two. and be careful with the front piece which is the back of the cab so you don't break it. i didn't break mine but the next time i won't put it on that early.

oh and i blame you, my friend matt, and REVELL for getting me into 1/72 so there.......

Modelcrazy, that is one brilliant job on that little plane! Way to go! I'd say that your badge is well-earned.

Okay, I'm finally able to start up here, so this is the box top of the model I'm building for this. It is the Zvezda 1/72 scale Topol.

I can blame Wayne for this; his excellent work has motivated me to get this and start building it. Hey, imitation is the best form of flattery right? Anyway, I doubt mine will turn out half as good as his did.

Anyway, here is what I did for this...

I decided to ease into this by building the rocket casing first:



After that, I felt a bit more motivated to work on the chassis. It seemed a pretty easy; if tedious bit of work:



Then it came time to assemble all the axles. This is where I had loads of problems since so many of the pieces looked too similar; the numbered pieces that then instructions said were supposed to go together were the wrong combinations that didn't fit right, and the rest didn't seem to have enough pieces for the necessary number of assemblies! Eventually, I managed to get the proper axles assembled and installed in the places that the instruction sheet said they were supposed to go:

They are 4 Ju87 B/R  Stukas  all the same for the most part but in the first stages of painting.  Just decals and load outs are different.  It's kind of part of the reason this Hornet isn't done yet.

welcome. i obviously haven't done much with mine. i have a BM-21 (1/35 and 1/72) i have to have done by end of year but i may work on fixing my paint issue with my first one.

my MK-1 FEMALE took a 1st in 1/72 armor, big surprise.picked up a HORNISSE and a CHALLENGER 2 at auction and a JAGDTIGER and AAV-7 today at vendor sale. also took 2 more 1st and one 2nd.

i agree on the rigging. that has to be insane at this scale.

i have some detail painting to finish up the TYPE 61 and have started the base.

I started this a while ago but have just gotten around to starting the decals.  I'm not sure when my last post was here let alone a post number.

Wayne, that is looking fantastic! I also want to get all those other models you've mentioned. For now, I'd like to copy you and start my Topol for this Group Build. Is that good? Let me know.

Here is the rigging applied. Fortunately this is all the plane had, or at least all I can find.

JGSDF TYPE 61 is done. HMG isn't mounted until i make a base. lessons learned: 1. brass rod axles for idlers and drive sprockets when using rubber band track, 2. leave the fiddly parts off until lower hull is painted, tracks are on and upper hull is attached. TAMIYA paints, black oil pin wash,  and REAL DEAL soft dirt the base may throw it into another category.

i am really getting into this scale which is scary given the 150 1/35 kits in the stash. i'll post better pics when the base is done. picked up 2 more, a CHALLENGER and a HORNISSE at club auction and i see AOSHIMA is doing a JGSDF PATRIOT, TANK TRANSPORTER WITH TYPE 74, and AMERICAN ATOMIC CANNON.

I think the Fiat designs, both biplanes and monoplanes are just great looking planes.

Very unique looking plane, Steve. I like it. Looking forward to paint!!

Looking good Steve! Thanks for the memories too. I built this same kit about a decade or so ago. Supermodel does make some excellent kits; I think I've built all but two of their entire line.

How are you going to camouflage this?

It's not bad, the plastic is a little brittle. The detail is nice and they gave me options for 3 different versions, and four deferent markings.

All in all, I'd definitely build a Super Model again. I'm going to install the wings tonight, if they go on as nice as the landing gear I shouldn't have any problems.

Sorry, I couldn't find my Ki 84 Frank combo kit (I may have sold it), however I dug through my stash and came up with a little guy I've been wanting to build for a while and just never had the right reason. It's either this or one of five 1/72 Mitsubishi Zero's.

It's all in Italian, but I bet I can figure it out.

Theuns...you, Sir, are on fire!! That Lightning looks great, as expected!! I just started mine and have not yet decided which scheme to go with. I'm leaning towards the half and half OD green and NM. Not ready for Alcad yet.

Lightning complete. I am not totally happy with the result, but you can't win them all LOL

Alclad bottom, top ate humbrol enamels wit Alclad semi sheen clearcoat. The decals went on very nicely.
