Gamera

Nice work, he looks like a rebel pilot to me!

me too. picked up a 3 week temp job so will celebrate by ordering VOODOO GFX lighting kits for T-2 AHK and HKT. might be best to start with a known before trying to do one on my own.

Thanks Gamera, Mach, Waynec and RobYes

Up close the paint isn't really sharp but it will look good enough in the closed cockpit I think.

hey JIBBER look forward to the finished paint job. my two T2s will be multiple shades of gray, silver, chrome may even try some ALCLAD

celebrated paying off my school loan by ordering the VOODOO GFX lighting kits for both. also bought the TRUMPETER 1/350 1917 pre-dreadnought and for someone who doesn't do sci-fi (i haven't started so it is true) a STAR WARS AT-AT.

Jibber,

your C-57 is looking nice!

I have that kit in my stash so I'm very interested in your build.

Thanks guys, I'm working on the electronics. The kit provided a rotating wheel with a series of orange/red oscillating lights, those are up and running and looks very cool. I want to add 3 more white led's to place in the saucer center aimed down each ramp (they're spring loaded BTW) to light them up, but with all the electronics in the kit I'm not so sure I'm going to find room. A nine volt battery is required and takes up a lot of space. Either way I'll have this as a completed build tomorrow. This is a very cool kit and a lot of fun to work on.

One thing I forgot to mention and I'm sorry I didn't take any photos, but the saucer halves have rims around them thats to be painted a darker grey. Between these sections theres an indentation that I covered in wide painters tape and used a ball point pen to make a groove and peeled away the excess tape and sprayed it with Tamiya German Grey. I think you can see the section I'm talking about on the top saucer.

Looking good Jibber!

Here are the laser cannons for the X-wing.  They required quite a bit of sanding and some reshaping.  The quality of this kit is very poor but manageable  The molds didn't quite line up and there were major mold line that needed t be dealt with:

Here's a closer look at the pilot:

I need to paint the rebel symbol or make a decal of it and put it on the helmet.

That's very cool Terry, she's gonna be awesome all lighted up!

FnH: Those lasers look better than I figured they'd look, nice work!

71 thanks...

Rob I think I've decided on the Y Wing Fighter by Fine Molds, looks like a scrappy little guy. Wouldn't mind messing him up a bit.

Looks awesome Terry! Too bad you didn't have enough room for lights on the ramp, but she looks fine as is.

Now I'm going to have to pull out my DVD and watch it again!

I haven't commented on the SW GB since I don't have anything to enter but I might just have to follow along though!

One of my favorite movies, a top ten. The music was done with a very basic synthesizer and the effects were amazing. This was the first appearance of Robby the Robot who really became a cult legend. Fantastic story line too.

There was just no way of installing those led's, the electronics came with a 9 volt holder that took up a lot of space and the motor didn't help. I'll save them for another project. Thanks..

I finally had an ounce of time to do some work on the falcon. I put all the pieces (bigger pieces this time) on the lower hull in the back.

That's all I have for you today, unfortunately.

Wayne if your going to pick a photo of the cruiser for the front page, I think the last photo with the red lighting is the best. I wished I could have taken a shot in the dark but I'm not that good with a camera. Thanks for a very cool GB, Terry.

Thanks for a very cool GB, Terry.

you're welcome. if you take a night picture later, i'll change the roster pic. i have not been as active as planned and right now this month is quite busy with november and december finishing this year GBs. i do have the VOODOOFX light sets and will set aside a work station to start on one of my T2s next moth. read the lighting kit instructions but don't think i will understand it all until i lay out the lights and  the kit and study them. Thanks to all who have commented and kept this going.

I'm starting to like these LED's, it's a real dramatic effect. I've been experimenting with them for a bit and I think its one of those things that can be overdone, so one needs to choose wisely…Wayne thanks.

i have a bunch of 1/24 fire trucks so i am hoping the 2 kits give me enough confidence and experience to light them. they are german trucks so i need to find a european siren i can tie into the kit. also thinking of lighting the big wheel bucket excavator which could definitely overdone. could put a couple or red ones inside a tank to get that glow through the vision blocks.

All good ideas, I've been thinking of lighting the interior of a large tank with an interior that is complete with open hatches, but most of these lights are pretty bright.
