Nice Scooter. I've always been partial to BA & T-Bird schemes, even tho I haven't built that many. One day I gotta do a side by side Phantom build.....

Thanks guys,

The blue was all masked and painted. The kit gives you half blue decals and half white. The idea is to paint the top white and apply the blue decals and reverse for the bottom. Phooey on that.

The bottom has identical markings, just obverse.

It is now proudly being displayed at my cube at work.

OK guys, here's the T-4 Blue Impulse.

I need to do a pin wash to add a little rivet and panel line detailing tonight and stick it on a base, but this is what I have so far.

Cute little fella, ain't it?

Well I got the blue sprayed, here it is.
Masked.

Painted, with the right wing uncovered.

I'll unveil the rest and do any touch-ups tomorrow.

Thanks Jeremy,

I masked it off for the blue last night and should be able to spray it tonight. I'm hoping to get progress pics up once the blue dries.

Steve, the T-4 is looking good, looks like the gloss white came out really nice, I too cant wait to see the blue on it. Yes

Woody, your Blue Angel looks great, that's always been one of my favorite Blue Angels aircraft, wish I could have seen them perform with it. Yes

This one is finished!  It wasn't the best kit ever, but certainly not the worst. I still haven't mastered using gloss acrylics, but I'm relatively pleased with the outcome. This will be a ceiling hanger, so that's why there's no gear. Thanks for looking.

Jack,

The French Blue looks almost identical to the decals in my kit. We'll see for sure when I get it on the white.

Looking really good there, Modelcrazy.  I'm curious, but which one of the two blues discussed best matched the kit  decals?

Jack

I got the white on and need to wait a few days for it to outgas before I mask it for the blue.

An update to the T-4

I just have a few more parts to install, a little prep, then lay down the white primer.

You'll do fine I'm sure.  I did mine on the 787 with white Krylon primer, wet sanded with 1500 and 2000 grit and then hit it with a couple of coats of MM Bright White, wet sanding with the 2000 in between.

I started on my Blue Impulse T4. It's going together pretty much as I thought. Smooth and without a hitch. I should get a long way tomorrow, soon It's on to the paint. I'm going to have positive thoughts about the gloss white.
I made the belts with tape.

Ok, It's time for me to start on the Blue Impulse. Here's what I have.

The build itself shouldn't take too long, the paint job on the other hand............

Ok, I screwed up. I started on the A4 today and had the camera next to me. I take a couple glammer shots of the pilot to post later, then BAM!! Total black out! 3 hours later, I look and the whole thing is pretty much together? So I stop, and these are the pics of where I stand. Sorry I didn't get any shots during the build. It was just one of those power builds I get into now and then. Anyway, as usual comments encouraged. The "blackout" build started right after this. Some pretty bad wing root gaps to fill on both sides and the tail planes
